The King collapsed for 10 days. The queen, who was pregnant, and her father Chief State Councillor Lord Cho Hak-ju forbidden anyone else to see the King. They decided to hide the death of the King until the Queen has produced a son. The son will be more legitimate than the Crown Prince Lee Chang, whose mother was a concubine. Crown Prince Lee Chang wanted to find out the reason behind his father illness. He sneaked into his father palace. He sees a shadowy monster through a door and smells its foul stench. However, he was discovered and escorted out of the palace by the guard. His guard Moo-Young on the other hand stole the medical journal for the King. Crown Prince Lee Chang found it weird when there was no record of the King illness for the past few days, but there listed the name of Physician Lee Seung-Hui, who was the last person who treated the King.

Physician Lee Seung-Hui brought his student to assist him to treat the King. He was terrified when he saw the King ate him. He then brought his student corps back to Jiyulheon clinic and asked others to bury him. Due to prolong starvation, one of the patients, Yeong-shin cook the corpse and served everyone. At night, everyone suddenly turned into zombies.

Seo-Bi scolded Yeong-shin in a room because she found out that he cooked the corpse as a meal for them. While both of them was arguing, they sensed something happened outside. When they opened the door, they were surprised to see human turned into monster who ate people. Seo-Bi and Yeong-shin hide inside the room. In order to prevent the monster from attacking the people, Seo-Bi and Yeong-shin sealed off the door and placed many bamboos as a prevention for the monster to escape. Seo-Bi listened to Physician Lee Seung-Hui to look for the purple flower at the Frozen valley who believed that the resurrection plant can save the people before he turned into a monster too.

To find out what happened to the King, Crown Prince Lee Chang and Moo-Young travelled to the Jiyulheon clinic in faraway Dongnae to see the physician. When they arrive, they discover that the clinic was in ruins and dead bodies are found under a building. They report the case to the magistrate. The guards took out all the corpse and placed them in the magistrate office. Crown Prince Lee Chang and Moo-Young later learned that the only person to have survived the clinic was medical staff member Seo-Bi. When they finally find Seo-Bi, she told the them that the dead they saw at the clinic were not dead and they will rise up soon to kill. Seo-Bi and Moo-Young went to the magistrate to stop them. Moo-Young also wanted to witness what Seo-Bi said was true.

The magistrate of Dongnae and nephew of Lord Cho Hak-ju, Cho Beom-pal caught Yeong-shin and believed that he has to take all the responsibility of the dead. They refused to listen to Yeong-shin that the dead will alive. Yeong-shin tried to burn the corpse but the guards stopped him. Seo-Bi also testify the same. In order to proof what they said was true, everybody waited until the sun went down. The zombies woke up and attacked the people. Everyone was trying to escape.

Crown Prince Lee Chang went to Jiyulheon clinic to look for Physician Lee Seung-Hui’s journal. he met Cho Hak-ju’s son who was waiting for him there. He was trying to attack the Prince. Suddenly, a monster from the cabinet attacked them. It was Physician Lee Seung-Hui who became a zombie. Crown Prince Lee Chang killed Physician Lee Seung-Hui’s head. He also witnessed Cho Hak-ju’s son who has been bitten by the zombie and became a zombie too. He quickly escaped the place after taking the journal. Moo-Young found the Crown Prince Lee Chang and rescued the prince from zombies.

The next morning, all the zombies hide under the house. Crown Prince Lee Chang came to the magistrate office and instructed the magistrate to burn all the corpses or cut off their head. There was also the only boat available to transport the people to another place.

The noble people reluctant to follow the prince. They choose to flee on the only boat and left the commoners and slaves there. Lord Ahn Hyeon received some news about the arrival of the ship beside the sea. He brought his men along and only saw blood bath in the ship. They could not find the corpse.

The Prince went to Sangju to seek help from Lord Ahn Hyeon, his former preceptor. Cho Beom-pal came to the Prince, Seo-bi, Moo-Young and Yeong-shin and told them what happened in the ship. It happened that one of the yangbans hide her son in the ship and killed many of them. He was the only survival from the ship. They arrived at Sangju and was curious why the people were having meat and had silk clothes. They learnt that the villagers obtained those precious items from the ship. They also buried those corpses elsewhere. The Prince asked the villagers to show him where did they buried them. The villagers brought the Prince and his comrade to the place. However, when they tried to attack the Prince, the zombies awaken and started to attack them. Lord Ahn Hyeon arrived with troops who know how to deal with the zombie crisis. Seo-bi wondered why Lord Ahn Hyeon knew how to handle the zombie as if he already knew their existed.

Lord Ahn Hyeon talked to the Prince and warned him that there was a spy among them who informed the palace to about his whereabouts. Lord Ahn Hyeon proved his saying by giving the Prince the secret letter that he received. The Prince talked to the magistrate and built their base to prepare to attack the zombie at night. They waited for them the whole night, but none of the zombie appeared. When the sun rise, everyone was happy. Suddenly, they saw many crows flied in the sky. They sensed something was going to happen.
