In the present day, Jang Bong-Hwan works as a chef at the President's Blue House. He has been accused for not doing his job well. He has been chased by the policeman. He fallen off the building and jumped into the pool. When he woke up, he was terrified that his spirit somehow finds its way into the body of Queen Kim So-Yong in the Joseon period.

Jang Bong-Hwan tried his best to return to his body. He looked for the lake everywhere. However, he was surprised that all the lake in the palace was drained. He wished to go back to his body badly. He asked his servant why Queen Kim So-Yong fallen into the lake before the wedding. He tried to find the truth. Everyone thought that Queen Kim So-Yong’s behaviour was weird.  They asked the doctor to treat her.

When Jang Bong-Hwan was informed to marry with King Cheoljong, he was terrified. He tried to explain to King Cheoljong that he was a man and he could not accept man marries with man. King Cheoljong also find her having mental illness. He asked the doctor to treat her well. During their wedding, Jang Bong-Hwan introduced ‘No Touching rule’ with King Cheoljong, whereby each of them live happily and fund separately.

Jang Bong-Hwan managed to win the heart of the Queen Sunwon. He cooked delicious food for her. In exchange, he wanted the Queen to fill up the lake. He was extremely excited to return to his body. He supervised the servant while working on filling up the water. He also invented a food plaquing to deliver the food in a short period of time.

One day, Jang Bong-Hwan went to Giseang to entertainment himself during at night. He crossed path Queen Kim So-Yong’s cousin, Kim Byeong-In. King Cheoljong and his comrade (Prince Youngpyeong & Special Director Hong) at Giseang too. They were discussing about searching for the evidence of Andong Kim clan corruption. Jang Bong-Hwan went into the wrong room. King Cheoljong and his comrade worried that the Queen Kim So-Yong might overheard their conversation. King Cheoljong therefore tried to kill her. Luckily, Kim Byeong-In rescued Jang Bong-Hwan and brought him back to the palace for treatment.

King Cheoljong wondered why the Queen acted weirdly. He tested the Queen a few times, wonder if she knew about their plan. It turned out that the Queen knew nothing. And he was wronged about the Queen Kim So-Yong. King Cheoljong’s heart started to waver which worried by Prince Youngpyeong.

Jo Hwa-Jin was King Cheoljong’s favourite woman. Jang Bong-Hwan tried to lure her but she always showed a cold face to him. Jang Bong-Hwan wondered why Queen Kim So-Yong jumped into the lake. He accidently found a piece of cloth sew by Queen Kim So-Yong. He also asking Hong Yeon and Court Lady Choi about the Queen. He realized that Queen Kim So-Yong tried to end her life.

There was rumor being spread that Jo Hwa-Jin was the one who pushed Queen Kim So-Yong. Jo Hwa-Jin was expert in drawing and archery. During the training of archery with Queen Kim So-Yong, Jo Hwa-Jin told the Queen to stop acting dumb and reveled that she did not push her into the lake. It was the Queen who jumped into the lake by herself. Thing getting worse when Jo Hwa-Jin’s servant O Wol has been kidnapped by Kim Jwa-Geun’s men. They tortured her servant in order to frame the incident to Jo Hwa-Jin.

Jo Hwa-Jin could not stand anymore. She met Queen Sunwon and confessed that she was the one who pushed the Queen into the lake. King Cheoljong tried to stop her. Jang Bong-Hwan observed the situation and decided to stand up. He revealed that Queen Kim So-Yong jumped into the lake by herself. However, when Queen Sunwon asked why she tried to end her life, Jang Bong-Hwan did not know why.

He asked Hong Yeon and Court Lady Choi about talisman and ritual because he wanted to know the reason why Queen Kim So-Yong was trying to kill herself. Court Lady Choi recommended him to meet Queen Daebi Jo because she was expert in talisman. Queen Daebi Jo was surprised to see Queen Kim So-Yong met her. When Queen Kim So-Yong asked about talisman and ritual, Queen Daebi Jo tried to avoid her. Queen Daebi Jo thought Queen Kim So-Yong was trying to challenge her.

 Jang Bong-Hwan was happy that when it rained heavily which filled up the lake quickly. He wished Hong Yeon and Court Lady Choi goodbye and jumped into the lake so that he can get back to his body. Unfortunately, King Cheoljong realized the Queen intention and rescued her from the lake. King Cheoljong agreed with the ‘No Touching Rule’. However, he misunderstood the meaning of Jang Bong-Hwan.

Prince Youngpyeong started to grow feeling for Jo Hwa-Jin. Jo Hwa-Jin has no choice but to send O Wol leave the palace. However, thing did not go smoothly. O Wol has been murdered by Kim Jwa-Geun’s men before she left the palace. Queen Daebi Jo persuaded Jo Hwa-Jin to join hand with her in order to protect their clan.

As Queen Kim So-Yong acted weirdly, everyone was gossiping about the Queen’s behaviour. The minister suggested to depose the Queen position. King Cheoljong disagreed with it. Kim Byeong-In decided to hold a post as Minister of Judgement. He was investigating the case related to a piece of silk who was leftover by King Cheoljong. He was an adopted son of Kim Jwa-Geun. He has feeling for Queen Kim So-Yong. He tried to protect her badly. Kim Byeong-In also looking into the case to find the culprit.

Queen Kim So-Yong suddenly become coma. Jang Bong-Hwan found him back to his body. He was really happy about it. He realized that he was being coma in the hospital for a week. King Cheoljong asked the Royal physician to treat the Queen. He sent the Queen back to her house to rest. After one day, Jang Bong-Hwan came back to the Queen Kim So-Yong’s body. He was amazed to find out of that Queen Kim So-Yong’s room was decorated with gold. Jang Bong-Hwan also realized that he gained Queen Kim So-Yong’s memories one by one spontaneously.

King Cheoljong came to the Queen’s house. He wanted to stay for 2 nights with the Queen. Kim Moon-Geun brought the King to walk around their house. Kim Byeong-In heard that the King Cheoljong came to the Queen’s house. He quickly came to her house in order to protect her. The King Cheoljong wanted to steal the ledger at night. However, he has been attacked by Kim Jwa-Geun’s man. Queen Kim So-Yong thought that someone was dancing in front of her room. She was surprised when the sword slashed through her room. In order to prevent Kim Byeong-In from catching him, King Cheoljong kissed the Queen. Kim Byeong-In heard some noise inside the house. When he came in, he saw them kissing one another. He was heart-broken and walked away. King Cheoljong realized that the ledger was missing. However, he found the ledger inside the well. King Cheoljong was afraid of the well due to his childhood bad memories. He used to hide inside the well in order to prevent Kim Jwa-Geun from killing him. The second night, he went into the well. He found the ledger was missing. He was suffocated in there. Luckily, Queen Kim So-Yong noticed him inside the well. She brought him out of the well all by herself.

King Cheoljong did not know who took the ledger away. He assumed that the ledger was with Kim Jwa-Geun.  Queen Kim So-Yong was excited to go back to the palace because she wanted to select her own concubines. King Cheoljong made a deal with the Queen that he will choose the clan and the Queen will pick whoever she wants.

Jo Hwa-Jin found the secret ledger from Kim Moon-Geun’s house. She wanted to give it to King Cheoljong. However, she realized that the King has grew interest to Queen Kim So-Yong. She then passed the ledger to Queen Daebi Jo. Queen Daebi Jo was excited about it. She wanted to use it to get rid of Kim Clan during the festival. Jo Hwa-Jin was angry with Queen Kim So-Yong as she thought Queen Kim So-Yong was the one who kill O Wol. O Wol was found in the well in the palace.

Queen Daebi demanded Queen Kim So-Yong to cook a meal for her. She was jealous when she only cooked for Queen Sunwon. While Queen Kim So-Yong was away from the palace, Queen Sunwon missed her food very much. Royal Chef Man-Bok could not even made them for her. Royal Chef Man-Bok also missed Queen Kim So-Yong. He hoped that the Queen can teach him her recipe.

Queen Kim So-Yong came back to the palace. She prepared meals for Queen Sunwon. Queen Sunwon told her to pass the Royal Chef Man-Bok her recipe. Initially, she did not want to. Queen Sunwon told her that she will behead Royal Chef Man-Bok if he failed to learn. Queen Kim So-Yong was surprise. She observed Royal Chef Man-Bok and talked to him. she found out that Royal Chef Man-Bok has lost all his family member in the past. She was pity of him. she decided to pass her recipe to him.

Queen Kim So-Yong was unable to sleep. She decided to write letter to three of her favourite concubines. However, it turned out that King Cheoljong was the one who received the letter. Both of them wrote love letter for one another. King Cheoljong was confused as to why the Queen treated him different from day and night.

King Cheoljong planned to hold a celebration to celebrate the Queen recovery. He planned everything from the beginning until food preparation. He discussed the food serving with Royal Chef Man-Bok.

On that day, King Cheoljong challenged with Kim Byeong-In which requested by Queen Sunwon. Kim Byeong-In realized that King Cheoljong was the one who attacked Queen Kim So-Yong.  Jo Hwa-Jin attack Queen Kim So-Yong during hunting activity which terrified Queen Kim So-Yong. Jo Hwa-Jin wanted to take revenge for O Wol. Kim Jwa-Geun tried to fail the festival. He asked Kim Byeong-In to stop the food delivery to the kitchen. King Cheoljong arranged Prince Youngpyeong to make second delivery for the kitchen. However, Kim Jwa-Geun’s people damaged King Cheoljong’s plan. Royal Chef Man-Bok gathered some food from the Royal farm by himself. Other staffs in the kitchen were suffered from food poisoning. Queen Kim So-Yong saw Han Shim-Ong put something into the water. She asked Court Lady Choi to look into the matter. Queen Kim So-Yong helped King Cheoljong for preparing the food during the festival. She kept that secret from the King Cheoljong. She used the available material to prepare a new food. Everybody praised the food were delicious. Since King Cheoljong has been away from the event for such a long time, she quickly went back to the event once she finished cooking. Jo Hwa-Jin noticed that the Queen Kim So-Yong smelled oily when she bypassed her.

Kim Jwa-Geun also challenged the King by capturing his men with fake identities. The King tried his best to protect them but he failed. Kim Jwa-Geun threatened the King to stay quiet and not doing anything on getting rid of him. When the King Cheoljong performed prayer, there was an explosion happened. Everyone was surprised.  He has been hospitalized for a few days. Queen Kim So-Yong jumped into the lake to find Queen Kim So-Yong’s memories. She found out the reason why she tried to commit suicide.

Everyone thought that Kim Jwa-Geun was behind this. Kim Jwa-Geun denied it. Everyone was surprised when King Cheoljong attended the hall. He requested to take away Kim Jwa-Geun from his position and exiled him. the whole incident was actually part of King Cheoljong’s plan to accuse Kim Jwa-Geun and Minister of War. He also asked Queen Sunwon to end her regency.

King Cheoljong went through the letters received from the Queen and also the letter received during the festival. He found out that Queen Kim So-Yong was helping him from behind. He went to her room in order to ask her. Queen Kim So-Yong thought that she was Hong Yeon. When Queen Kim So-Yong woke up in the morning, she was surprised to see King Cheoljong beside her.

Queen Kim So-Yong tried to avoid King Cheoljong. However, King Cheoljong has many questions wanted to ask her. He was curious as to why she was helping him. Queen Kim So-Yong made it clear that both of them has no future. She just wanted to be herself.

Queen Kim So-Yong cooked a brunch for Queen Daebi and Queen Sunwon. She hoped that both of them can get along well. Queen Daebi placed the ledger in Queen Kim So-Yong’s room. Queen Sunwon found the ledger from her room. She assumed that Queen Kim So-Yong was betraying their clan by helping the King.

Queen Sunwon and Kim Jwa-Geun planned to poison Queen Kim So-Yong. Physician Park, Queen Sunwon’s servant told the King that about their plan. King Cheoljong quickly went back to the palace and look for the Queen. Luckily, Dam-Hyang failed their plan.  Dam-Hyang has been sentenced to prison. King Cheoljong tried to rescue the child. He made a show in front of the Minister by forcing the Dam-Hyang to drink poison. He gave Queen Kim So-Yong signal that he was lying.

After the incident, Queen Kim So-Yong and King Cheoljong grows their feeling. They spent more time together and talked about the future of Joseon. Queen Kim So-Yong shared her thoughts with the King. King Cheoljong also brought Queen Kim So-Yong to meet his comrade. Queen Kim So-Yong decided to help the King to fight against her clan. It is because she could not stand her clan for trying to kill her. She decided to turn her back from them. She warned Daebi Jo, Queen Sunwon and Jo Hwa-Jin who tried to kill her, not to mess with her.

King Cheoljong found out that Queen Kim So-Yong was the one who rescued him from the well when he was young back then. He realized that Jo Hwa-Jin was the fake one. However, he did not expose her. Jo Hwa-Jin was jealous when she realized that King Cheoljong no longer love her like he used to be. She decided to be honest to the King. She also told the King about giving the ledger to Daebi Jo. King Cheoljong was pretty disappointed to her because she knew that the ledger is very important for him.

Kim Byeong-In gained influence from the both Jo clan and Kim clan. His target was to eliminate the King Cheoljong from the throne. He was promoted to become the Minister of War. King Cheoljong wanted to handle the corruption cases amongst the Minister. He setup a group in order to manage this matter. However, Kim Byeong-In joined hand with others, tried to fail his plan.

Kim Moon-Geun worried about his daughter. He asked Queen Kim So-Yong to step down from the position. Queen Kim So-Yong refused. In fact, she needed his help. Queen Kim So-Yong requested Kim Moon-Geun to give up his poverty and give them to the poor. Queen Kim So-Yong also reported the case to King Cheoljong. Kim Moon-Geun could remember every single detail in the ledger. Therefore, he made a new ledger for King Cheoljong and acted as a whistleblower.

The physician checked Queen Kim So-Yong’s condition and confirmed that she was pregnant. King Cheoljong, her servants were all happy for Queen Kim So-Yong. She was surprised and terrified that she was pregnant.

Daebi Jo spread the rumor to accuse Queen Kim So-Yong that the baby she carried was not belong to the King. It was belonged to Kim Byeong-In. She also personally informed Queen Sunwon about the matter. In order to clear the rumors, Queen Kim So-Yong and King Cheoljong purposely seduced each other in front of their servant. Queen Sunwon instructed Kim Byeong-In to kill Queen Kim So-Yong for being shameless to the family. Kim Byeong-In made a deal with Queen Sunwon that he will persuade Queen Kim So-Yong to their side and also allowed Queen Sunwon to hold absolute power.

Everyone thought that Jo Hwa-Jin was the one who spread the rumours. Jo Hwa-Jin met Daebi Jo and warned her that she quite being her puppet. Jo Hwa-Jin met Queen Kim So-Yong and gave her archery to her. She also requested King Cheoljong to depose her. Although the king refused, he had no other choice.

Kim Byeong-In met the King and told him about Queen Sunwon who intended to kill Queen Kim So-Yong. Kim Byeong-In suggested the King to kill Donghak believer the next day so that Queen Kim So-Yong will be safe. The King agreed with the plan. The King left the next morning after meeting his sleeping Queen Kim So-Yong and Queen Sunwon. Kim Byeong-In attacked the King while he was on his way to fight with Donghak believer. Prince Youngpyeong and Special Director Hong have been lockup by Kim Byeong-In’s orders. Kim Byeong-In also gather both Jo and Kim clan to courtesan house. He forced them to sign a contract stated that they will join force to raise treason to King Cheoljong.

Kim Byeong-In could not find the King body. Queen Sunwon reinstated Kim Jwa-Geun. Queen Sunwon and Kim Jwa-Geun announced the death of the King although the King has not been found. Queen Kim So-Yong missed the King and heart-broken. However, when she examined the corpse, she realized that it was not belonged to the King. She decided to leave the palace so that she can find the King within 7 days before the enthronement of the new king. Queen Kim So-Yong has been stopped by Kim Byeong-In. She attacked Kim Byeong-In and told him that she was not Kim So-Yong. Kim Byeong-In thought about it and realized that she was different from before. He gathered his men to look for the Queen.

Court Lady Choi and Hong Yeon also followed Queen Kim So-Yong to look for the King. They have been attacked by Kim Byeong-In’s men. However, in the end, Kim Byeong-In believed that Kim So-Yong’s soul still alive. He changed his mind and decided to protect her.  Kim Byeong-In passed the letter to Queen Kim So-Yong as a protection for her own safety. Sal-Soo also tried to kill Queen Kim So-Yong. King Cheoljong He killed Kim Byeong-In in front of Queen Kim So-Yong. Queen Kim So-Yong was terrified when all her people died.  She hided herself from the officer and Sal-Soo. Luckily, King Cheoljong found her in the forest. He also told her that Court Lady Choi  and Hong Yeon were safe.

King Cheoljong and Queen Kim So-Yong plotted their plan to enter the palace. Kim Jwa-Geun already placed many guards at the entrance of each gate. They managed to enter the gate through food delivery. Queen Kim So-Yong requested Kim Hwan to steal the King stamp in order to delay the enthronement. King Cheoljong and Queen Kim So-Yong thought that everything went well with the plan.  Queen Kim So-Yong saw Sal-Soo carried a gun and pointed towards the King. She covered the King. However, both of them was shot.  Suddenly, Jang Bong-Hwan was back to his body. The real Kim So-Yong appeal. Kim Jwa-Geun attacked King Cheoljong. King Cheoljong defeated him. He also managed to get his throne back.

King Cheoljong punished Kim Jwa-Geun, corrupted officers, Queen Sunwon and Daebi Jo for their crime. Queen Kim So-Yong and her baby also saved.

Jang Bong-Hwan was worried that King Cheoljong might passed way. He went to the bookstore to check it out. He was relieved that King Cheoljong was alive and managed to change the world. Since the history has changed, his world changed as well. He was also free from being accused for killing the president.
