Review: The K2

Kim Je ha was a soldier who has been accused for murdering the civilian of Iraq. He escaped from army and ran to Paris. Over there he met a woman who looked like she was being kidnapped. He tried to rescue her but end up she being captured again by her bodyguards. Years after that, Je ha went back to South Korea to start his simple life again. However, things does not went in such a way. He faced numerous attempts from people who tried to track his footsteps. Choi Yoo Jin tried very hard to get him as he was the witness of the incident happened while another group of people who are trying to capture the president-to-be Mr Jang.

Although Je Ha once tried to kill Yoo Jin due to her treat on him, he end up working under her company Cloud Nine as a bodyguard. Yoo Jin was then assigned him to protect a woman named Anna (Mr Jang's daughter, Yoo Jin's Step-daughter). They eventually fall in love with one another. Anna and Mr Jang believed that Yoo Jin was the one who kill her mom who is the top star. Yoo Jin acted in such a way in order for them to believe that she actually kill her mom because she was too afraid to make the wrong choice for marrying Mr Jang - she did that so that her dad believed the choice that she made a correct one (she does not want to be married in an arranged marriage). In fact, Yoo Jin's father was the one who killed Anna's mom for her sake. Anna does not know the fact until Yoo Jin revealed the truth.

Yoo Jin's step-brother, Chairman Choi who acted as a good uncle for Anna in order to gain her trust. He does not actually did that to protect Anna. His motive has been discovered by Je ha and Yoo Jin which all he did is to steal Cloud Nine from his stepsister. Yoo Jin all the while keeping Anna in a safe house and avoid Mr Jang to visit his daughter as she did not want the enemies to use Anna to threaten Mr Jang's Presidency.

The overall movie is okay. I get a bit confused in the beginning of the drama because I wasn't know what is going on as the people kept running around here and there. The ending of the drama is not bad, it is acceptable. I couldn't get into pieces until the end of the story whereby the truth has been revealed and about why they are acting in such a way. There are a lot of suspicious moment where I could not understood but I understand the reasons behind it now. 

This drama is more like a playing psychology in a political way. It also can be described as playing chess in such a careful way as the war can be declared in any point of time if your enemy has something to threaten you. it wasn't easy for the actors in this movie because it involved a lot of action scene and it was tiring to see them fighting all the time.

Review: Black

Thriller, fancy, romance, investigation

At first I was a bit confused with the characters. I felt that the story was like a puzzle without showing the whole  story what is going on. After watching the drama till the end, I finally understood the whole story.

Black is the caller for Grim reaper 444. He wanted to capture another grim reaper who are hiding in the human body. There was an accident happened to Mong Gang where by the killer shot on his head and believed that he was dead. Black (who always wear black so that Ha Ram cannot see the shadow on Mong Gang's body) then that the opportunity to enter Mong Gang's body. Ha Ram has special ability that she can see the dark shadow and can foresee the future of death when she touch the shadow.

Ha Ram tried to change the fate of the people. She couldn't bear to see others died. Thus, she tried to avoid what is going to happen to their death. However, people think that she was crazy, and nobody believe her. Because she was so afraid to see those shadows, she tend to wear sunglasses in order not to see the shadow. Mong Gang motivated her that she should appreciate the gift that she had, and using her ability to help more people.

After Black entering Mong Gang's body, he also used Ha Ram to catch another grim reaper which he called him "loser". He tried to failed Ha Ram from saving the people from death. After spending a couple of time together, Black without realising that he eventually fall in love with Ha Ram.

Through the investigation of Black, finally found out that Mong Gang was his younger half-bother. He was killed by Mong Gang's mother who donated his heart to his brother in order to save his brother life. Later, he was then dumped into the sea with a car. He also discovered the person who shot his head was Ha Ram. He also managed to find the real culprit who raped his first lover and punished them severely.

The overall the story is still consider ok. Quite creative to express what the whole drama is all about.

Review: The Producer

Comedy, romance, documentary

This short drama described the life of a producer in the media industry. It demonstrated  the difficulty that they faced in their workplace and how they actually handle it. There are too many unexpected factors that might cause a program to stop launching. One of the main factors include the popularity of a celebrity and also the viewer rating which would badly affect the whole team that work on the same program.

Becoming a producer is not as easy as it is. It requires the scarification of time and energy to produce such a good video to attract more audience to watch their show. They also need to meet tight deadline and always have to fight against time in order to complete everything in time. A producer need to be someone who has leadership, team work spirit, creative and perfectionist. Without all these qualities, it is hardly for the producer to survive in this industry.

After watching this drama, I learnt about the working life of a producer and how they actually manage their stress level in such a tight deadline ahead them. Because of their effort, we are able to watch so many wonderful programs/ dramas/movies/ celebrity shows. I'm really grateful and appreciate every piece of work that they are working hard on.

Review: Suspicious Partner

What an amazing drama that sparks a light between the two lovers. No Ji Wook used to be a prosecutor. Due to his neglected his responsibility to charge the defender (he believed that she was an innocent person who does not kill anyone), he has been barred from becoming one. He then became the attorney which he hates the most. The defendant is Eun Bong Hee who is an attorney, was accused for killed the son of the DA. Even though the case has been closed, the society still perceived her as a murderer. It makes her life harder when she could not even been hired by any lawyer firm nor continue her living as she has no income.

No Ji Wook helped her. He gave her shelter, food, and a job. He later make his home as an office to run his own lawyer firm. He accepted any case that come to him as his lawyer is just a startup. He hired his friends to work with him. They get along with one another very well. Bong Hee fall in love for him and even confessed her feeling towards Ji Wook. Ji Wook rejected her love as he does not has any confident to love someone after he has been cheated by his ex-girlfriend. Later,  He fall in love with Bong Hee without realizing it. He tried to get back to Bong Hee and tried to make her change her mind in order to love him back.

They encountered a number of life and death together. The culprit who killed to son of DA tried to kill Bong Hee as she witnessed him for killing people on top of the roof. Bong Hee actually does not see what is going on as she has a blurry eye sight when she take off her spectacle. Ji Wook saved her and protected her by keeping her by his side. At the same time, they also discovered the death of their parent who were killed in a fire. Their parents both died on the same day. Bong Hee's father save little Ji Wook from fire while he sacrificed himself to save Ji Wook' s parents.

Ji Wook at that time has been brainwashed by the DA who told him that Bong Hee's father was the murderer who killed his parents. The DA wanted Ji Wook to change his statement in order to accuse Bong Hee's father. DA later has been arrested due to his wrongdoings.

I enjoyed the drama very much. I love the chemistry between Ji Wook and Bong Hee. They are excellent in their acting skills. I hope that they can won some awards during the ceremony. They deserved to be rewarded for their hard work. Hope to see more interesting and exciting drama like this in future.

Review: Empress Ki

Historical, romance, politics

A very well written historical drama. It described the life cycle of Empress Ki from young until she was adult. What she suffered during her childhood has lead her to be more determined to train herself  to become more stronger. Her strength can be compete with other men. She is skillful in arrow shooting. On the other hand, she is also a brave and clever woman who is not like any ordinary women who portraits weak and needed to be protect.

Throughout her life, she struggle a lot from losing her parents and son. Thank god that she is lucky enough to meet wonderful person in her life, such as  friends, teacher, first love and even her husband in the end of the story. They helped her to become the Empress of Yuan. They protected her from political issue as well as her own life.

This drama demonstrated the cruel and ugly part of how the political people misused their power and wealth to gain more greedy on power and make the poor suffer from starving. It is also showed how Empress Ki used her knowledge and tactics to handle those issues. It was very impressive for a woman who can do so many great things for the nation of the people.

It was a very nice historical drama to be watched.

Review: While You are Sleeping

Fancy, romance, friendship

While you are sleeping, you tend to dream something that will turn into reality. Jung Jae-chan (Lee Jong Suk), Nam Hong-joo (Bae Suzy), Han Woo-tak (Jung Hae-in) had dream that can predict the future of someone who have saved them from death.

The storyline I'm not really impressed with it. Because it is quite boring and you would be able to expect what is going to happen next. It does not lead the drama to the climax. I don’t feel exciting about it. It was pretty disappointed drama.

The drama is actually goes by case from case basis. And it does not have any connection for the previous case which make the whole drama dry. Therefore, I would not recommend this drama.

Review: Healer

Action, romance, investigation

Healer is a code name that used by Seo Jung Hoo. He worked together with Jo Min Ja (hacker detective) as an errand guy whose goal is to save money to buy an deserted island in South Africa. He has a great teacher who raise him and teach him the fighting skills . His goal has been changed after he was assigned to protect a girl (Chae Young Shin) from being killed. He discovered the similar photo of his father's college friends in a house. He started to find out the truth of his father's death. He then pretend to worked as a reporter in order to fulfill the order of his client Kim Moon Ho. He pretend to be a weak one so that no one can recognize him as Healer. He then slowly fall in love with Chae Young Shin.

Chae Young Shin is a entertainment reporter who wish to become a famous reporter like Kim Moon Ho. She has a trauma during her childhood. Besides, she also suffer several ribs fracture. Therefore, she will suffer panic attack whenever she see violent. Healer saved her several times from danger . She later fall in love with Healer. She does not realised that Park Bong Soo (Seo Jung Hoo/Healer) was actually Healer. She slowly found the clue and discovered who Healer really is.

Kim Moon Ho is trying to protect Seo Jung Hoo and Chae Young Shin by having live interview so that the bad guy cannot do anything on them. He is  Seo Jung Hoo and Chae Young Shin's uncle. He is trying to find out the truth on the death of his friend ( the fathers of both Seo Jung Hoo and Chae Young Shin). Eventually, they managed to reveal the true cause of death of the two innocent fathers.

 I am very impressed with the acting skill of Ji Chang Wook. He is really good in fighting and action stuff. I would like to see more drama from him. Currently he is enlisted in military service. For the time being, I would love to watch his previous drama - Empress Ki which has very high viewers rate and received a number of awards.
