[Review] Pinocchio

The drama begins with the fire explosion incident happened while the Yeon Ha Myung's dad (firefighter) and fellow firefighter went into the factory to ensure no casualty in there. Unfortunately, all of them died on the spot. There was a Pinocchio by-passer who believed that he saw Yeon Ha Myung's dad alive. All the reporters instead of investigating the cause of the fire, they turned to Yeon Ha Myung' family and questioned them restlessly. Due to these, they were unable to move on their lives as the society keep pointing fingers on them. His mom could not withstand this pressure and decided to end their lives. His brother was devastated when he came to know the fact that all his family was dead.

Ha Myung was rescued by Choi In Ha's grandfather. Her grandfather adopted Ha Myung as his son. Therefore, Choi In Ha has to address Ha Myung as her uncle. Ha Myung from there on he was named as Choi Dal Po. Dal Po was so anger towards the fact that In Ha was the daughter of the reporter  who accused wrongly his dad to be responsible for the fire incident. He has no choice but to stay with them as he need a dad and the grandfather need a son (real Dal Po already dead - grandfather could not accept the death of his son). In Ha's father divorced with her mom before they come to village to stay with her grandfather. Dal Po did not want to look for his brother when In Ha's father asked about his family.

Ha Myung and his brother hated reporters after the incident happened 13 years ago. In Ha decided to work as a reporter even though most of the people discouraged her due to her Pinocchio syndrome (a person who hiccups when they lied).  She failed a lot interviews due to this syndrome and stayed unemployed for quite a long time. One day, she went to her mom's workplace to apply for the position. Her mom failed her at once after she failed the test given by her mom. She was so upset and hopeless. Dal Po console her not to give up her dream and decided to become reporter together . Dal Po became YGN reporter while In Ha worked as MSN reporter. YGN and MSN are competing with one another to gain more reader view on their broadcast. While Dal Po and In Ha and their partners worked together on the same news,  they finally found out the culprit who cause the incident that happened 13 years ago. They searched for clues and evidences that related to the incident. This has cleared the perspective of Dal Po towards being a reporter. In the end, Dal Po married In Ha.

This is a very educational and yet impactful drama that demonstrate that as a reporter, every words and reports that they prepared need to verified thoroughly before they tell the society. it also emphasis on the importance of reporter who should carry out their responsibility ethically and professionally.

[Review] W - Two Worlds

It was really funny and entertaining for the first few episodes. It is getting more serious when it comes to the end of the drama. While watching the drama, I was getting more and more excited about the story, because it keeps excite me and it comes out with the storyline that you never expect what would happen next.

W is the world in the webtoon. The main character in this webtoon is Kang Chul. It was created by Oh Meong Song (cartoonist). When the cartoonist decided to end the story, the main character did not want to. Kang Chul changed the story of what Meong Song did. The cartoonist was shocked and surprised that the story kept going on even without his drawing. He was so afraid and decided to kill him by instructing the unidentified man to kill him on the rooftop of his hotel. Kang Chul dragged the cartoonist and his daughter into the W world.

Oh Yeon Joo from that day onwards, she always being dragged into the W world whenever Kang Chul keeps thinking about her. She will only disappeared from the webtoon when Kang Chul changed his mood. She overcame any dangerous incidents that might cause Kang Chul from being killed by her father. Kang Chul later found out that the world he lived in wasn't real and he decided to investigate the matter. He kept questing Yeon Joo's existence. Yeon Joo has no choice but told him that the world she lived and he lived are different.  He was shocked and saw Yeon Joo disappeared right in front of him. When he was doubting about his world, everything stopped. He saw a screen coming in front of him and he decided to go through that. Finally he came out from the webtoon into the reality. He saw the comics book in the bookstore and he realised that he was only a character created by cartoonist. He was so upset and went to look for Oh Meong Song. The cartoonist was shocked as well as he could not believed his eyes that Kang Chul actually appeared in front of him. They had an argument and Kang Chul shot him. Then after, Kang Chul decided to end his life by jumping off the Han River.

Yeon Joo did not want Kang Chul died. She tried to change the story and eventually Kang Chul was being rescued by the divers. They were surprised because the story should come to the end, they wonder why the story still continues. Later, they found out that the storyline no longer controlled by the cartoonist nor Kang Chul. It was the unidentified man who also came to the reality and looked for Kang Chul. He did not want Kang Chul to end his life without looking for him.

Kang Chul was worried that that killer might kill Yeon Joo because Yeon Joo was part of his family now. (Kang Chul and Yeon Joo were married in webtoon in order to discharge her from the police station. ) Kang Chul requested Yeon Chul to erase his memories with her so that the killer did not come to the reality. He asked her to draw as he was dreaming and requested her to forget about him. Yeon Joo has no choice but to follow what Kang Chul requested. She was sad and missed Kang Chul so much. Sometimes she was also being dragged into the webtoon for just a few minutes.

That killer threatened Meong Song to give him identity and made a deal with him. Because the cartoonist betrayed him even stole Meong Song face, the killer controlled Meong Song and force his soul  to follow his order. Kang Chul also wanted Meong Song to give the killer an identity so that he can kill that unidentified man. Meong Song decided to draw his face as the killer because he was once in the webtoon who tried to kill Kang Chul.

When Kang Chul came back to his sense, he realised that he need to do something in order to get rid of the killer. He worked together with Soo Bong, Yeon Joo and asked them to draw a few things for him so that he can apply them while he was back to W world. He set a trap for the killer and let the police to capture him. Kang Chul thought that after this he would live happy with Yeon Joo. However, thing have not come to the end when he saw So Hee (friend and personal assistant) appeared in real world. He was shocked and he questioned himself whether he had accidentally summoned anyone in webtoon.

Unluckily, the killer was summoned to the real world. He looked for Yeon Joo and kidnapped her. He also shot her in order to threaten Kang Chul. Kang Chul was so anger and came to scene to gunshot face-to-face with that killer. Yeon Joo was in coma in the reality so Kang Chul brought her back to webtoon. However, she was then dead in the webstoon. Kang Chul came back to reality and requested Meong Song to bring her life back. Problems came when the tablet was fully spoiled when the killer controlled him to destroy that tablet. Kang Chul looked for another tablet in W world which is believed to have the same function as the real one.  In the process of getting the tablet back to the reality world, the politician (10 years ago accused Kang Chul as murder) took the tablet. Kang Chul was being kidnapped by the politician. Kang Chul managed to persuade the politician to the hospital along with tablet and summoned him to the reality world so that Meong Song can have the tablet to bring his daughter's life back by drawing. Eventually, Yeon Joo was alive.

Kang Chul could not be able to escape from W world and was committed with several charged for his misdoing. It could be due to the comic came to the final episodes. Yeon Joo and his father are also being dragged into W world. Yeon Joo saw Kang Chul in the court. He managed to run away from court due to the help of cartoonist. Yeon Joo's father was being traumatized by killer. Sometime he was as normal but sometimes he acted like an killer. He could not controlled himself. He requested Kang Chul to end his life so that his daughter can live happily with Kang Chul. Kang Chul did not want to because he treated Meong Song as his family too. Meong Song told Kang Chul that he will disappear when he stopped killing people and that it allowed them to go back to the reality world.

The politician kidnapped Kang Chul's friend. Kang Chul came to rescue his friend with the condition that he have to bring the tablet to him. Kang Chul refused, the politician shot him but Kang Chul managed to fled. He stopped at the bus stop due to his car ran out of gas. He called Yeon Joo for help. Yeon Joo came to the bus stop and saw Kang Chul. He waited her and he fell. She then back to the reality. She knew that she could not be able to go into W world anymore. She was upset and desperate. She also looked for her father at the hotel but failed to trace him. Meong Song drew the politician commit suicide in order to end the story well. He also started became invincible. He then went to the bus stop to see his daughter for the last time. Thereafter, he was bury in the webtoon and disappeared. Kang Chul was then saved by his friend and went to hospital for treatment. Kang Chul was sentenced for two years in prison in webtoon. After his sentence came to the end, he went back to reality world to look for Yeon Joo.  They were live happily ever after.

[Review] The Legend of the Blue Sea

It was really funny Korea drama that I never watched before. The songs selection for this drama are pretty nice to listen. I enjoyed the overall drama from the beginning until the end. It was about the romance between a human and mermaid. In their past life they were killed, Heo Jun Jea does not want their fate to be repeated. He tried his best to protect the mermaid and to change their fate in this life.

It was about the mermaid who has a superpower to erase the memory of the human and to read the person's memory. The mermaid fall in love with a handsome guy. Her tail change to legs when she was on land. However, she has a life time limit when she was on land. Her heart will start to harden and eventually die. She will only survive with the power of love. Heo Jun Jea and Sim Cheong faced a lot of difficulties throughout their journey. Sim Cheong tried her very best to hide her identity from human in order to avoid them from hunting her. 

Jun Jea kept making the same dream whereby he was Dam Ryeong in Joseon Era. Thus, he decided to research on this particular person. Later, he found that Dam Ryeong was actually him. Heo Jun Jea eventually recalled his past life evident and knew the secret of Sim Cheong. He kept the secret and acted as he doesn't know anything. He could even heard the inner voice of the mermaid. As time passed, Jun Jea fall in love with the mermaid. He is responsible to made sure that Sim Cheong is under his protection. He kept an eye close to prevent her from any danger that will lead to the exposure of her true identity.

Great drama for leisure time. It make a lot of laughter while watching the drama.

[Review] City Hunter

This drama is about the revenge of the special forces soldier who wanted to kill the ministers who set to kill them during the operation. It is also related to how a man (Lee Yoon Sung) want to protect the safety of his love ones from being hurts.

During the process of his revenge, he found a lot of uncovered secret that related to his identity.  The  father that his mother married was not his father - he is one of the special force soldier - Park Sang Min. The father that raised him was the comrade of Park Sang Min - Kim Jin Pyo.  His real father was the President. Jin Pyo kidnapped him and raised Yoon Sung in Golden Triangle. He even trained and educated him since he was young.

Lee Yoon Sung could not agree with Jin Pyo's revenge method. Jin Pyo wanted to kill those who are involved in the Operation Clean sweep. However, Yoon Sung does not want to do so. He just want to teach them a lesson and let the laws to punish them. Jin Pyo always threaten Yoon Sung for his act and even intended to hurt Kim Na (Yoon Sung's lover) and Ahjussi in order for Yoon Sung to follow his orders.

At first the prosecutor - Lee Joon Hyuk investigating the corruption case of the high ranked officials. He failed to captured them several times due to several reasons. Thanks to the city hunter's help, he managed to obtain evidence and able to charge those officials with relevant punishments. He then started to investigate the identity of the city hunter. He later found out that Lee Yoon Sung was the city hunter. Joon Hyuk did not revealed his identity, in fact he cooperated with city hunter to capture the corrupted officials. In the process of obtaining the evidence, he sacrificed his life for his job.

At last, Yoon Sung have to decide whether he should reveal the President's act for the corruption case. He has no choice but to be just and be fair to those who scarified during the Operation Clean Sweep. He revealed those evidence and corruption act of the President. The President was willing to accept the punishment and removed from the President position.

[Review] The Heirs

Kim Tan was the second sons of Jeguk Group. He has a the half-brother named Kim Won. His brother does not like him. He even asked Kim Tan to leave the house and study abroad in USA. He does not want to give Kim Tan the opportunity to threaten his position in the company. Kim Won was a cool man and he always has emotionless face. Kim Tan has no choice but to live in USA just as what Kim Won wanted. After 3 years staying in USA, Kim Tan decided to head back to Korea. Part of the reasons he went back is due to he missed his family so much and another reason was he wanted to meet Eun Sang again. When his father was warded, both brothers worked together to protect their family as well as the company from being taken over by their step mother.

Cha Eun Sang came from a poor family background. She has a sister who stayed in USA. She worked very hard everyday in order to earn a living to lessen her family burden. She also worked for several part time jobs. Her mother was a handicap. She worked as a maid in Kim Tan's house.

One day, Eun Sang decided to went to USA to fulfil her dream and at the same time looking for her sister to send their hard earn money for her sister wedding. By the time she reached the USA, she looked for the place where her sister lived. She thought that her sister was having a good life there, while Eun Sang and her mother have to work hard in Korea. She was jealous about her sister for having a good life in USA. She then discovered that her sister was not live a good life either. She saw her sister working in a restaurant and her boyfriend was not wanted to marry sister. Sister then saw her in front of the restaurant and stolen the money from her. She was so desperate and helpless. Kim Tan was there at that time. He offered her shelter and food so that she can stay in USA for a few days before she went back to Korea. (Eun Sang passport was taken by the police for investigation, she was unable to go back to Korea at the moment).

Kim Tan afraid that she might be bored at home. He brought her to his school since she wanted to know how the American school looks like.  The next day, his fiancé came over Kim Tan's house. She discovered Eun Sang in Kim Tan's house. She then humiliated and forced Eun Sang to leave the house immediately. Kim Tan was so angry with his fiancé and he chase after Eun Sang to stop her from leaving. The fiancé (Racheal Yoo) called Eun Sang best friend, Yoon Chan Young over to pick her up.They even spent a night together while Kim Tan's car broke in the middle of the road. They have no other choice but to stay at the hotel for a day.  Eun Sang was so relieved when she saw Chan Young and they spent an evening in USA.

Chan Young's girlfriend, Lee Bo Na was pretty jealous about Eun Sang from being too close to Chan Young. Even she is jealous, she was nice and kind to everyone. When Eun Sang need any help, she will be there to support her. She even kept Eun Sang identity secret while she was in school.

Kim Tan does not have a feeling towards his fiancé. He decided to cancel the engagement with Racheal Yoo. However, his father was against it. it is due to their marriage would be as an insurance for Kim Tan to protect his position. His father wanted this engagement so badly because Kim Tan was an illegitimate son whose mother was not a legal spouse. Kim Tan fall in love with Eun Sang and he could not live without Eun Sang. There are a times where Kim Tan go against his father in order to protect Eun Sang. Unfortunately, his father forced the girl to leave the country and threaten her to dump Kim Tan. Eun Sang have no other choice but choose to move far away from Kim Tan so that Kim Tan does not hurt himself. Finally, after his father collapsed and being rescued from death, he finally allowed Eun Sang and Kim Tan to go on a relationship.

During the schooling days, Kim Tan always have a fight with Choi Young Do. Before that they were both best friends. After the incident when Young Do's mother leave him without having a chance to meet each other, Young Do was angry with Kim Tan for not dragging him to his mother. Kim Tan did, but his mother left earlier than they thought. Choi Young Do also love Eun Sang. He always make Kim Tan jealous even though he knew that Eun Sang does not accept his love. Any how, he also protected Eun Sang when she was being bullied in school. Young Do also helped Kim Tan to escape from being locked up at home.

The overall drama was entertaining and enjoyable. All the laughter and excitement was incredible. The production team really deserve the prize for this drama. I'm looking forward for The Heirs 2 which is believed to be on air after Lee Min Ho completes his military service in 2019.
