[Review] Sungkyunkwan Scandal

This drama was about a young lady who love to study very much. However, at that point of time, women are not allowed to be educated or employed in government department. She has no choice but have to disguise herself to be a guy in order to reduce her family burden. She has a sick brother and an older mother to take care of. Due to her family condition, she has to work part time in bookstore so that she can earn a living. 

There was a time where she met a guy named Lee Sun Joon who caught Kim Yoon Hee  for being cheating in the examination hall. He then later acknowledged her talent and understood her condition. He helped her to get an entrance into Sungkyunkwan (University). They were not only roommate but also classmate and partners. Sooner, they developed a feeling for one another.

Kim Yoon Hee tried her very hard to keep her identity as secret so that she can continue to study at Sungkyunkwan and obtain medical privilege to cure her brother's sickness. At the end, her identity was exposed and the King was pretty angry about. Nevertheless, she wasn't expelled from Sungkyunkwan due to the King forgave her and appraised her intelligence for finding a secret wills from the late King.

Both of them (Kim Yoon Hee and Lee Sun Joon) spent an awesome moment during Sungkyunkwan. Kim Yoon Hee encountered a few difficult situation where she was always being  accused for wrongdoings by the President of Students. Lee Sun Joon always being there to help her out during those difficult times. He taught her and motivated her not to give up on learning archery. Not to forget their friends Moon Jae Shin and Gu Yong Ha too who also have been gone through a lot of ups and downs with Kim Yoon Hee and Lee Sun Joon. They worked together to carry out their duties to carry out mission assigned by the King as well as investigate the true culprit for stealing from the students from Sungkyunkwan.

I have learnt a lot of lessons from this drama, especially Confucius philanthropy. I am also impressed by the actor Park Yoon Chun (Lee Sun Joon) and actress Park Min Young (Kim Yoon Hee) who are acting so well. It was quite a challenging acting for Park Min Young who have to pretend to act as a guy in order to keep her identity secret. Park Yoon Chun was to act as an upright and intelligent man. He was cool and yet a very good speaker who debated and convinced the President of Student to clear the atmosphere for accusing gay between Kim Yoon Hee and Moon Jae Shin.

What an Interesting drama to be watched.

[Review] Boys Over Flowers

When I watched this drama again, I felt like I was going back to my teenage period. Falling in love with someone with your first sight was pretty memorable and I considered both of the couple in the drama were cute and naïve towards expressing their love to their love ones.

What I found about this drama is that it was pretty cool to have a boyfriend who were always be there to protect you whenever you faced danger and do stupid things together. It was also quite important to have someone who acts like an angel for you when you are in need.

However, I'm pretty impressed with Jan Di who hold her principle firmly that love someone with heart which can’t be replaced by money. Jun Pyo found that he has a lot of thing to learn from Jan Di. His mindset has eventually changed and become a better person. Although he was an hot tempered person, he treated Jan Di well and he don’t even force her to accept his love. In the end, Jan Di eventually fall in love with him and would not leave him just because of his mother.

Jun Pyo finally understand the means of family while staying overnight at Jan Di house. Jan Di's family treated him well. They even shared the happy moment together by self-making kimchi, taking bath at public bath and eat street food, in which it was the first experience for Jun Pyo. He felt being loved by family and was so pleasant about it.

What I'm confused about is that why the Jan Di tends to easy believe in someone even though she has experienced numerous of time that her schoolmate kept bullying me and being framed by bad guys. Didn't she learnt any lesson from previous experience and keep making the same mistakes?

Jan DI was so fortunate to have friends like Ga Eul and F4. Whenever, she was in hurt or in danger, F4 will come by just in time to help her out. Jun Pyo was pretty innocent as he was always being controlled by his mother. His mom dislike Jan Di very much. She did whatever sort of thing in order to get rid of Jan Di from her son. His mother would like her son to take the responsibility to run their family business instead of messing around with his childhood partner. There are number of times where Jun Pyo was being captured by the bodyguard to be locked up in the house. This situation is still happening in today's world as the rich family could not accept their in laws who come from lower social status.

What I noticed is that, being a man who make a promise, they will definitely carry their responsibility to keep their promise. In which it has been proven by Jun Pyo who came back to Korea after 4 years studying in United State to propose with Jan DI. 

Overall drama is really entertaining and enjoyable.

[Review] Goblin

After watching 16 episodes of drama, I am really pleased and impressed by the scriptwriter, who did really well in writing an awesome story for this drama. The actors are well chosen and their acting is fantastic. The overall drama was so well planned and scene was extremely beautiful. The story was quite touching and interesting. I love this drama so much.

It is unbelievable that the story began with Goryeo era where the warrior (Kim Shin), who was claimed to be the traitor, was being killed with the sword presented from the king as well as the whole family of Kim Shin. The sword was on the chest of the warrior. There after, Kim Shin became goblin after his death.

He lived for 900 years in order to looking his bride to pull out the sword on his chest, and thereafter he will turn into dust and be varnished forever. It was quite coincident that the child that he saved was so happened to be his bride. The girl named Ji Eun Tak (the missing soul referred by the grim reaper), always summon the goblin by blowing the light of the candle/lighters.

Eun Tak destiny was to pull out the sword of the goblin. If she does not carry out her duty, she will face numerous incident of death in future. Luckily,  Goblin was able to save her from being killed. It was also their fate that in this life, Kim Shin managed to meet his beloved sister and the King Wang Yeo. He prayed hard that they can live happily in their future.

The grim reaper (Wang Yeo) is believed to be having great sin in his previous life in order to be grim reaper. He was so curious about what he has been done in his previous life. Lastly, he made Kim Sun (Kim Shin's sister) to recall her previous life memories by kissing her. However, he was unsure that whether is he the Wang Yeo or Park Jong  Woo (ghost). One day, Park Jong  Woo met him and told him is previous identity. Grim reaper was so shocked and felt guilty towards Kim Shin as well as Kim Sun (Wang Yeo's wife).

Grim reaper and Kim Shin were living together in Goblin house. Grim reaper is believed to be the tenant of the house for 10 years. At first, they are always quarreling with one another. After spending time with one another, they became friends. Grim reaper always use his power for personal used and he even broke his work ethic by revealing who is going to die to Kim Shin so that he can save Eun Tak in advance. Unfortunately, he was questioned by the audit team and being suspended for his job.

Eun Tak was able to pull the sword but she refused because she does not want Kim Shin to vanish forever. Due to critical situation faced by Eun tak that Park Jong Woo attacked her, Kim Shin borrowed Eun Tak hands to pull out the sword in order to kill Park Jong Woo. Thanks to the help of grim reaper who came just in time to rescue them. Once the goblin is gone, the deity erased the memories that everyone he knew so that they can lived in peace. After 9 years without the presence of the goblin, everyone lived in their own path. The deity opened another door for the Goblin and his bride. There was when his bride blew the candle of her birthday cake, the goblin appeared again.

The goblin was trying to hard to make his bride to recall their memories. The grim reaper and Kim Sun was so happened that their memories wasn't erased the existence of the goblin, which really shocked the goblin. Eun Tak managed to recall their memory while she was on board in Canada. Kim Shin also went to Canada to meet Eun Tak.

In the end, the goblin and his bride get married and supposed they should be living happily. It was unfortunate that the grim reaper received a name card without a name. He believed that this name card was referring to Eun Tak, but he was unable to inform the goblin in advance. Eun Tak died on the spot while trying to save the children from car accident. Goblin  cried madly that he wasn't wanted her to dead. Eun Tak comforted him and made a promise with him that she will look for him in near  future.

Year by year, those who are close to goblin have left, only left him alone in this world. After 30 years, he saw his sister and the grim reaper living happily together. And Eun Tak finally found him in Canada in the end of the story.

[Review] Seven Days Queen 七日的王妃

Shin Chea Gyung(Queen Dangyeong) was the Queen Consort of the King Jungjong. She was only being the queen for seven days as she was being accused to dethrone due to political issue.

The drama was a sad story whereby Shin Chea Gyung was involved in the love triangle between Lee Yeok and Lee Yung. Lee Yung was trying to get rid of Lee Yeok (little brother of Lee Yung) because Lee Yeok has threatened his throne. Lee Yung commanded Shin Chae Gyung to become his spy by marrying her with Lee Yeok. Shin Chae Gyung and Lee Yeok are love for each other. Lee Yeok do not dare to tell her regarding his revolution motive in order to protect her safety. 

Shin Chea Gyung later found out that Lee Yeok's motive and she felt being cheated and deceived by Lee Yeok. She was very disappointed to him as she believed that Lee Yeok is loyal to Lee Yung. Even though she found out her husband's rebellion plan, she was struggling whether or not she have to report it to the King. In the end, she chose to deceive the King and asked permission to stay in countryside together with the Prince. The Prince was afraid that the King might hurt his wife. He quickly went to the palace to look for her and at the same time he heard the conversation between the King and Chea Gyung.

One day, the King express his love towards Chea Gyung. However, she rejected her love towards the King and support the Prince. The Prince was looking for the secret document that has been tattoo on a woman body. He knew that Chea Gyung has the tattoo, but he refused to request from her. Chea Gyung told the Prince that she knew everything. She even find the secret document that buried under the tree. She gave the late king wills to the Prince and asked him to ask himself why must he become a king and requested the Prince to give a chance to Yung to become a better King.

The King too also looking for the secret document so that he can destroy it before Yeok found out. It was unfortunate that Chea Gyung has passed the wills to the Prince and he was really anger and felt betrayed by her. Yeok also he has the wills, he decided to give Yung a chance to turn into a new leaf to treat the nation well. He even decided to spent the rest of the life with Chee Gyung in countryside.

On the day they left the capital, the King was acting aggressively to look for the snail wife leader (snail wife was the Prince supporters). He ordered Chea Gyung's father to launch the actions.  Before that, Chea Gyung's father had advised the Prince to go to countryside with her daughter and never come back to the capital anymore. He has no choice but to protect his daughters and at the same time not to disobey the King order. It was a really tough situation for him to make the right decision.

Seo Noh, Chea Gyung and the prince's good friend, who volunteer himself to the king that he was the leader of the snail wife. He was beheaded after he revealed his doing in order to avoid the king from killing the innocent people as wella as protecting the Prince.

The Prince and Chea Gyung was so sad to see their friend beheaded in front of them with bloody body on the ground. The prince in fact went to see the King and questioned him the reason for killing his friend. Nevertheless, the King treated him as a traitor who was trying to kill the King. The King then locked up Chea Gyung who was the traitor wife and asked if she want her husband to beheaded or to cut his tendon in order to disable his walking ability and she has to  in the palace as long as the King wish. Chea Gyung did not want the King to kill her husband, thus, she chose the 2nd option. The King was cruel that he wanted Chea Gyung to see the process of cutting her husband tendon.

She waited for the Prince to rescue her out from the palace. She was also concerned about her husband's condition as well as her parents. The prince too was worried about his wife and find way to revenge the King. His plan was successful. Lastly, he became the King. After the incident, both Chea Gyung and Yeok felt empty. Yung was their family member. It was a cruel revenge between the brothers. Chea Gyung later found out that her parent has been killed by the snail wife. She was shocked and unbelievable. Lee Yeok did not know about and later only found out what was going on, however, it was too late for him to explain to his wife. Chea Gyung was angry and wanted to kill the Yeok by herself. 

In the end, the story was so touch and made me cry madly for not being able to live together as normal husband and wife. They are force to be separated in such a way to protect one another from being killed.

At first I thought the queen was hung to death due to the order from Yeok's mother. Yeok reached the site in hurried and managed to rescue the queen from death. He knew that is was the trick to eliminate the queen so he quickly found evidence and alibi to proof that the queen has did nothing wrong.

Chea Gyung requested Yeok to divorce her in order to keep both of them safe from being killed. They have to live long in separate long distance as  a promise to love one another more. Yeok didn't want to divorce Chea Gyung, he wanted to stay beside her and live as a life of normal husband and wife. No matter how hard Yeok wanted Chea Gyung to stay in palace, he couldn't change her mind. Chea Gyung left the palace without informing Yeok.

Even though the king and prince had a fight with one another, Yeok still loves his brother. He paid a visit to Yung who has been exile in countryside. Yung in the end also reveal his true feeling and thought that he wasn't hate Yeok at all. He just hated the reflection of himself. He was jealous that his father wanted him to pass the throne to his brother, Yeok. After a brief conversion between brothers, Yung passed away.

Yeok then went to visit Chea Gyung who stayed together with her aunt. They spent their time living in a countryside for a short period. Chea Gyung finaaly gave birth to 2 children for Yeok. Even though, Yeok offered Chea Gyung to accept his effort to enthrone her as his queen again, Chea Gyung refused the offer. She ddidn't want her child to be in a fight for the throne just as Yeok and Yung did in the past. Yeok agreed and respected her decision. As Yeok became older and was going to die, he requested Chea Gyung to meet him for the last time before he died. 

It was a great drama to be watched. It touches my heart deeply and it left a great memories about how the power of love wins the people's heart. It also emphasis the duty as a king to protect the nation, to love the people.

I highly recommend this drama. 

I really fell in love with the songs that played for the drama. I love them all.
