Choi Han-Su was born and raised on Jeju Island, but he moved away to the mainland. He has now returned to his hometown. He is a perfect city man. He meets his first love Jung Eun-Hui. She runs a fishing store on the island. Choi Han-Su faced some financial issue. He has been supporting his daughter to study golf. However, the cost was way too high. He has been struggling to earn money. He even borrowed money from his friends and family. He wanted to borrow money from Jung Eun-Hui, but he felt ashamed to ask from her. Jung Eun-Hui happened to know when her friends told her about Choi Han-Su’s condition. Initially, Jung Eun-Hui was angry towards him for using her feeling. However, she decided to lend money to Choi Han-Su. Choi Han-Su apologized to her and returned the money to her. His daughter decided to come back to Seoul. He left Jeju Island as he wanted to spend some time with his family.

Lee Yeong-Ok, who moved to Jeju Island, has been a haenyeo for the past year. She is a bright person, but many rumors follow her around. She meets Park Jeong-Jun, who is a fishing boat captain. He is a man with a warm heart and he is looking for a woman who will not leave Jeju. He falls in love with Lee Yeong-Ok at first sight. Lee Yeong-Ok realized that Park Jeong-Jun has feeling for her. She told him not to fall in love with her as he will get hurt. Park Jeong-Jun insisted to get along with her and confessed his feeling to her. She eventually accepted it. Other haenyeos disliked her for flirting other guys and do her own way without emphasized on teamwork. She apologized to senior haenyeos for her mistakes. The senior did not want to accept her apologize and wanted to kick her out.

Bang Yeong-Ju and Jung Hyeon are high school students.  Bang Yeong-Ju is Bang Ho-Sik’s daughter and Jung Hyeon is Jung In-Gwon’s son. Both Jung In-Gwon and Bang Ho-Sik are friends but they keep fighting with one another. Bang Yeong-Ju and Jung Hyeon have an affair. Bang Yeong-Ju told Jung Hyeon that her period has overdue and asked him to buy a pregnancy kit for her. Jung Hyeon secretly bought the kit for her from a far village. Bang Yeong-Ju decided to abort the child as they are still a high school student. Although Jung Hyeon tried to convince her not to abort the child, she already made up her mind. Jung Hyeon accompanied her to the hospital. After they are hearing the heartbeat of the child, Bang Yeong-Ju did not want to abort the child anymore. Jung Hyeon promised that he will take care of them and he will tell his father about this matter. Bang Yeong-Ju and Jung Hyeon tried to convince their dad. Initially, they refused to accept and asked her to get abortion. However, due to the determination of their child, they decided to accept the baby.

Lee Dong-Seok was born in a small village on Jeju Island. He now sells stuff from his truck on the island. He is not a sophisticated man. Lee Dong-Seok then gets involved with Min Seon-A, who has just moved to Jeju. She has her own story which nobody knows. Min Seon-A has a family with a son. She experienced depression. Her husband annoyed by her mental illness that caused her unable to fulfil her duty as a mother and a wife. Because of this, her husband divorced her. When the family investigator interviewed Min Seon-A, she showed her what her son thinks of her. Min Seon-A was heartbroken when her son said that she was sick. She came to Jeju Island alone. She coincidently met Lee Dong-Seok. He also helped her to fix her car. Lee Dong-Seok was angry towards her as she refused to accept him. Min Seon-A tried to avoid him.

One day, Min Seon-A thought about her son and she became depressed because of it. She jumped into the sea. Haenyeo saw her jumped into the sea. They quickly rescued her. Lee Dong-Seok called the ambulance. Min Seon-A revealed that she was accidentally slipped into the sea. Lee Dong-Seok waited for her in front of the hospital. He also looked for an accommodation for her to stay. Min Seon-A was glad that she had him.

Min Seon-A used to stay in jeju Island. She met Lee Dong-Seok and they used to be friend since young. She came to see him whenever she did not want to return home. One day, Lee Dong-Seok saw his friend tried to rape her. He beat his friend badly. Min Seon-A lied that she made a report a policeman and called Lee Dong-Seok as thug in order to stop him. She left the island on that day with her parent. However, thing did not go as smooth as she thought. Her father committed suicide and her mother got re-married. She had depression ever since her father passed away. 7 years ago, they met one another. Min Seon-A has ended a relationship with her ex-boyfriend. She was still waiting for him to get her back. Lee Dong-Seok thought that it was a chance for him to confess his feeling, so he kissed her. However, Min Seon-A did not have any feeling for him anymore. She left him on the spot. Min Seon-A told Lee Dong-Seok everything about her past and present situation. All she wants for now is to get her son back from her ex-husband.

Lee Dong-Seok accompanied her to Seoul to attend her trial. She failed the trial and she was extremely upset about it. Lee Dong-Seok tried to cheer her up and stopped for her from doing anything silly. Lee Dong-Seok told her about his story. His mother married his stepfather. Although his mother knew that Lee Dong-Seok always being bullied by his stepbrothers, she did not tend to care about him. Since then, Lee Dong-Seok hated his mother and he refused to return home.

Lee Dong-Seok tried to cheer and encourage Min Seon-A to face her life brightly. He sent her back to Seoul as she wanted to stay there and worked with her friend. Lee Dong-Seok gave her some advice and asked her to call him whenever she needs. He left Seoul before the dawn break. His friends have been asking him about the woman that he saved. He was not intended to tell them, but as the elderly asked him, he has to answer them. Lee Dong-Seok shared his joy with Jung Hyeon. He told him about Min Seon-A. He was willing to wait for her to come back to Jeju Island.

Lee Yeong-Ok and Park Jeong-Jun officially dating with one another. They also went to a trip together. Park Jeong-Jun wondered who was the one who keep calling her. He answered the phone while Lee Yeong-Ok was away. Lee Yeong-Ok explained to him that she never lied. Although she knew many people speak ill of her, she did not care about it. She told him that she has painter parents and both of them passed away. She did not have man or child at the mainland. Park Jeong-Jun chooses to believe her. Park Jeong-Jun gave Lee Yeong-Ok a piece of advice that she has to be careful when she was under the sea. He hoped that she can worked with other haenyeo as a team rather than working alone. Lee Yeong-Ok claimed that she preferred to work alone and earn more money. One day, Lee Yeong-Ok has been stuck under the sea. Luckily other haenyeo came to rescue her. They blamed her for being greedy to collect more abalones. They wanted to kick her out.

Lee Yeong-Ok begged Hyeon Chun-Hui to allow her to stay. Hyeon Chun-Hui asked her why did she lied about her background. She explained to her in details. After listened to her story, Hyeon Chun-Hui and other haenyeo decided to accept her.

Jung Eun-Hui is friends with Ko Mi-Ran. She has been divorced for 3 marriages. Initially, she was excited to attend her only daughter’s graduation. And after all, she planned to travel around the world with her. However, her ex-husband told her that her daughter did not want her to attend her graduation. She has no other place to go. Thus, she came to her hometown to visit her old friends. Jung Eun-Hui disliked her ever since she treated her like a maid. Ko Mi-Ran realized that she has unintentionally hurt her friend by reading Jung Eun-Hui’s diary. She wanted to apologize to Jung Eun-Hui and what had made her think of her in such a way. Jung Eun-Hui pretended to be normal and she did not tell her the reason why she hated her. Ko Mi-Ran was famous among the men. One day, she attended the reunion party with her old friend. One of her friends told her that he has been abused by his wife. He also showed her his body where his wife scratched him. He wanted to divorce his wife. Ko Mi-Ran tried to console her friend, but it has caused misunderstanding for his wife. His wife has been swearing Ko Mi-Ran for flirting her husband. She had a fight with her. Jung Eun-Hui tried to stop them, but she was accidentally being slapped by Ko Mi-Ran. On the way home, Ko Mi-Ran met Bang Ho-Sik. She knew that he disliked her since they were young. Bang Ho-Sik told her the reason why he hated her and sent her home. Ko Mi-Ran confronted with Jung Eun-Hui. She decided to end this friendship and left at once.

Jung Eun-Hui realized that Ko Mi-Ran had a lot of things hid from her. She did not did not tell her that her daughter did not want her to attend her graduation. Jung Eun-Hui did not feel good about it. She decided to go to Seoul to look for her. Jung Eun-Hui and Ko Mi-Ran finally getting together. They have resolved their misunderstanding.

Lee Yeong-Ok received a call from the care facility. Her twin sister, Lee Yeong-Hui was coming to Jeju Island. Although Lee Yeong-Ok did not want her to come, she has no other choice. Park Jeong-Jun invited Lee Yeong-Ok to meet his parent. However, she rejected the offer. She showed him her sister was has Down Syndrome. He was shocked at the moment. Lee Yeong-Ok believed that he was like other guys who left her once they see her sister. There has been some issue when Lee Yeong-Hui stayed at Jeju Island. Both sisters also argued with one another due to her disability. Park Jeong-Jun tried to get her sister favor. He brought her new water colours, new handphone and brought her to eat nice food. Lee Yeong-Hui also find that he was a nice guy, so she started to like him. She took many pictures of the villagers, because she wanted to draw them. Lee Yeong-Ok didn’t believe that she has talent in drawing. After Lee Yeong-Hui left to Seoul, Lee Yeong-Ok found a series of her drawing in Park Jeong-Jun’s bus. She cried in tears.

Hyeon Chun-Hui was happy that her granddaughter was coming to Seoul. After a few days spending time with her, she found her granddaughter was a crybaby and she had difficulty to prepare meal for her. One of the villagers told her that her daughter-in-law might abandoned the child to her. Hyeon Chun-Hui started to worry about it and kept asking her granddaughter. She denied straight away. Hyeon Chun-Hui then tried to contact her son and daughter-in-law. However, she cannot reach them. One day, Kim Hye-Ja heard from her granddaughter that her father has been hospitalized. Hyeon Chun-Hui really worried about him. Thus, she packed her things and went to Mokpo. She went to the mart to look for her daughter-in-law but she has resigned. She then went to the hospital as told by her colleagues. She was upset to see her son lying on the bed. Before she left, she gave her bank account to her daughter-in-law and also told her to give up rescue her son. Soon after she came back to Seoul, her daughter-in-law informed her that her son was going to die.  Hyeon Chun-Hui and all the villagers pray for him to recovery. In the end of the day, her son finally came back to life.

Kang Ok-Dong wanted his son to bring her to Mokpo to pray the memorial service of her second husband. Lee Dong-Seok did not want to until his friends told him that his mother has terminal cancer and she was going to die soon. Lee Dong-Seok wondered and asked Min Seon-A what she thought about it. Min Seon-A told him to ask everything that he had on his mind before his mother passed away. Lee Dong-Seok decided to give in and brought her to Mokpo. He visited his two stepbrothers and even had a fight with them. He then brought her to her hometown which turned into a reservoir. He also brought his mother for a trip. He even showed her his new house. Min Seon-A and her son also came to Jeju Island. His mother was glad to see her.

The next day, Kang Ok-Dong prepared a meal for his son and also her pets before she passed away. Lee Dong-Seok cried and mourned for his mother. However, he no longer has any regret since he already got answers from his mother.

A month later, they are having a competition against another villagers. Jung Eun-Hui invited all her friends to come over to join the competition. Everyone was having fun.
