There
was a boy named Park Hae-young, he saw a woman kidnapped his classmate. He
tried to tell the police the real culprit was not a man. But nobody listened to
him. Years after years, this case has not been resolved. One day, he received a
walkie talkie and went to the crime place. He knew that I was insane to believe
that the walkie talkie should not be functioning without battery. However, he
heard someone was talking here. He found the dead body behind the senile
hospital which has been abandoned long time ago. He quickly informed the
detective and told her that he was the witness who saw his classmate being
kidnapped by a woman 15 years ago. He told her the characteristic of the
culprit. Luckily, she believed him. Before the case has been closed due to the
limitation of statue, they managed to find the real culprit. However, due to
the culprit unwilling to confess her wrongdoings, she purposely dragged the
time until the limit of statue passed, so that the police can’t charged on her.
The team was able to find out the actual time that she murdered her boyfriend
(which is not yet pass the limitation of statue). Thus, the detective and
police managed to charged her on this. Because of this case, many people
appealed to the respective government agency to reopen the cold case that
happened many years ago. The government decided to drop this limitation of
statue rules for those cases that involved arson, murder and violent. They
setup a special team that in charge for the cold case. The first case that they
received was a serial murder case - Hwaseong serial murder case.
Park
Hae-young noticed that the walkie talkie that he had will only function every
night at 11.23pm. he realised that he can used the radio transmission to
communicate with past detective Lee Jae-Han in 1989. He knew it sounds crazy,
however, he has to convince Lee Jae-Han to find out the culprit. He found out
that what he changed in the past will affect in the present. It also changed
the locations, time of murder and victim. Hae Young and Jae Han tried to work
together to capture the real murderer. After analysing the profile of the
murderer, they managed to capture the real culprit.
Hwaseong
serial murder case is a cold case that unable to resolve until today. Due to
lack of forensic knowledge and lack of evidence, they failed to find out the
culprit. Although the case has passed the limitation of statue, it still remains
a misery case for the South Korea people to find out who is the real murderer
who commit such crime on women aging from 14 to 71-years-old. It is such a
disappointment that the case has not been resolved which left a deep scar for
the victims’ families.
Later,
they moved on to another case that involved the burglary among the house of the
heirs of conglomerate and congressman. With the cooperation between the present
and the past detective, they managed to find out the real culprit – the son of
the prosecutor. Coincidently, they also found out that this case is related to
the suicide case of an actress. The culprit mistakenly murdered the wrong
person and the actress (which is also the witness who saw the whole incident
happened during that time) revealed the truth to the cops. The culprit only
confessed his wrongdoing when he surprisingly saw the witness still alive. Lee
Jae Han managed to find the evidence that contained the corruption evidence
between the government and conglomerate in a disk. However, the content has
been deleted by the chief cop. Jae Han was angry and knew that it was done by
the Chief Cop. Hae Young also suspected that the Chief Cop was the one who
revealed the evidence to the outsider (the son of the prosecutor) so that he
can get prepared for it. He also suspected that Chief Cop was the one who
behind the murder of Jae Han.
Another
detective was curious about the relationship between Jae Han and Hae Young. He
wondered why Hae Young tried to find out everything about Jae Han when both of
them have no relationship at all. The detective started to question him why he handled
all the cases that was in-charged by Jae Han before. Hae Young did not know the
reason too.
The
last case that Jae Han handled was the female student gang rape case in Inju in
1999. This case was related to Hae Young as his older brother was accused for
raping the female student. Hae Young requested Jae Han to find out the truth
about the incident as he believed that his brother is innocent. When Jae Han
investigating the case, he noticed that all the witness gave the same statement
that pointed against Hae Young’s brother. He knew that the case has been setup
by the powerful person. Detective Anh wanted to tell Hae Young about the truth
regarding the case of Inju. Before he managed to tell him, he has been killed
by someone. He only managed to tell Hae Young that he was the one who killed
Jae Han and asked him to find the skeleton of him. Hae Young has been excluded
from investigating the Inju case because the police thought that he was the one
who killed their leader. Hae Young asked a female detective to help him to find
out the truth. They went to the outskirt house of the culprit who killed
Detective Anh and found out Jae Han’s corpse.
Hae
Young was curious that why Detective Anh isn’t trying to tell the truth about
the gang rape case. In fact, he was actually looking into the investigation of
Hae Young’s brother’s death. He found out that his brother was not being
suicide. He has been killed by someone. He was so emotional to the fact that he
informed Jae Han to rescue his brother in the past. However, Jae Han failed to rescue
his brother. Female detective sent a transmission to Jae Han to warn him not to
go to Senile Hospital as he will be killed on that day. Due to that, Jae Han
managed to survive in the past. This leads to another case that caused the Chief
Police being arrested due to his corruption and wrongdoings.
Hae
Young was so unfortunate that he has been injured seriously and stayed at the
hospital for a couples of days. When he woke up, he noticed that there is a
change in the present. He did not know what was going in the past that made a
huge change in his present life. He looked for the female detective and she
also found herself to have a new memory. They tried to locate Jae Han in the
present day since they knew that he has been survived in all these years. This time,
without the radio transmission, Hae Young was worried and looked for ways to
contact Jae Han. He then realised that Jae Han has actually left an important
document for his mother. His mother then passed the document to him. Hae Young and
female detective was then headed to the hospital to look for Jae Han.
The drama
is incomplete and left the ending open. I hope that there will be season two in
the upcoming years. It is really fantastic and interesting storyline that I have
ever come across. It is worth watching this drama. Hope you enjoy too.
