It’s Okay to be Not Okay

Moon Gang Tae and Moon Sang Tae are brothers. Moon Gang Tae was younger brother who worked as a nurse in mental illness hospital. He changes his job frequently when the spring comes. Jo Jae-Soo was Moon Gang Tae’s best friend and he is secretly in love with Nam Joo-Ri. Moon Sang Tae was afraid of butterflies. He kept saying that the butterflies chased him.

Ko Moon-Young is a famous writer of children’s literature. She has an unhappy childhood. She dislikes her father because her father was once trying to kill her. Her father was in mental illness ward. The nurse, Nam Joo-Ri came to see her. She tried to persuade her to sign some document in order to allow her father to do operation. Ko Moon-Young has anti-social behavior. She scared away a child who wanted to take photo with her. She is cold and always takes some sharp items (knives and scissors) without other people’s consent.

Moon Sang Tae is Ko Moon-Young’s big fan. Moon Gang Tae informed his brother about the writer who will come to the hospital to perform storytelling to the children. He promised him that he will ask for her autograph on behalf of Moon Sang Tae. Suddenly, there was a case in happened in the hospital. The patient who was mentally sick, looking for his daughter in the hospital. He interrupted Ko Moon-Young storytelling session. She was very angry that her session was ended half way. Ko Moon-Young also rescued the daughter. When the patient tried to choke her neck, it reminded her father who used to do the same to her. Luckily, Moon Gang Tae stopped him just in time. When Ko Moon-Young was going to stab the patient with a knife, Moon Gang Tae stopped her too. Moon Gang Tae’s hand was full of blood. Ko Moon-Young stopped his blood with a handkerchief. Ko Moon-Young’s manager was nervous. He tried to bribe Moon Gang Tae. He used to clean the mess of Ko Moon-Young by bribing other from splitting out word about her. Moon Gang Tae was being fired as he failed to take care of the patient.

While Moon Gang Tae on the way home, he realized that he forgot to take autograph for his brother. His friend forged Ko Moon-Young’s signature and presented it to him. Moon Sang Tae looked at it and knew that it was fake. He was upset with Moon Gang Tae and Jo Jae-Soo. Moon Gang Tae received a message from Ko Moon-Young’s manager. He came to his office. Ko Moon-Young was surprised to see Moon Gang Tae at her office. Moon Gang Tae told her that she looked familiar with a little girl who also has the same cold eyes. When Ko Moon-Young asked whether did he dislike her. He told her that he liked that girl.  Moon Gang Tae thought that he got her autograph on her new storybook for his brother. When he opened the book, it was a message for him. She invited him to come to her official autograph session at the bookstore. He quickly left the office because he wanted to avoid her. Ko Moon-Young did not care about what he thought. She just liked him. She realized that he was the little boy who followed her everywhere she went.

Ko Moon-Young asked Yoo Seung-Jae to do some background check on Moon Gang Tae. Ko Moon-Young’s new book – Zombie kid received some criticism on the illustration and storyline. Ko Moon-Young did not care what others said about her book because she very confident about herself. During the autograph session, Moon Gang Tae brought his brother to attend the event. Moon Sang Tae was being bullied by one of the fans. Ko Moon-Young decided to help him out. She punished the fans for not being considerate about his condition. She also spoke ill about them. The videos have been recorded and news was spread all over the nation. Lee Sang-In was in big trouble when Ko Moon-Young also involved in the fight with her mother’s ex-manager.

Moon Gang Tae was jobless. He simply found some part time to work in order to support his family. Nam Joo-Ri offered him a job as a caregiver (OK Psychiatric Hospital) at his hometown. She also offered him to stay at her house. At first, he rejected her offer. Moon Gang Tae later did some researches on OK Psychiatric Hospital. There was a doctor who are expert in treating the mental illness patient. He was thinking to send his brother there for treatment. Moon Gang Tae asked his brother’s opinion whether about going back to their hometown. Moon Sang Tae agreed with it. Jo Jae-Soo also followed Moon Gang Tae and Moon Sang Tae moved from one place to another. He opened a new fried chicken restaurant at the town.

Ko Moon-Young left everything behind and went to OK Psychiatric Hospital to look for Moon Gang Tae. Moon Gang Tae was surprised to see her there. Although she wanted to have a meal with him, he rejected her. Ko Moon-Young went back to her old mansion, which was built by her father, to stay for a couple of days. The next morning, she went to the hospital to visit him again. The principal Oh Ji-Wang met her and offered her to do some reading at the hospital in return brought her father went for a walk.

Lee Sang-In looked for Ko Moon-Young everywhere. Yoo Seung-Jae informed him that she did what Ko Moon-Young requested. Lee Sang-In found out that she went back to her home town. He wanted to bring her back to Seoul. He brought Yoo Seung-Jae with him to persuade Ko Moon-Young to go back with them. Ko Moon-Young refused to follow them. Ko Moon-Young had a bad dream. She dreamt about her mother who threatened her to kill her lover and listen to what she said.

Moon Sang Tae worked at Jo Jae-Soo’s restaurant as part timer. Moon Sang Tae draw pictures for the customer as to promote Jo Jae-Soo’s restaurant. He wanted to earn money so that he can buy a camping car for Moon Gang Tae. Moon Gang Tae found out about it. He was touched by his brother commitment to earn money for the family. Oh Ji-Wang also offered Moon Sang Tae to draw on the hospital wall. Moon Sang Tae was happy about it.

There was a patient came to the hospital for treatment. He was the son of the congressman. Due to he was lack of love from his parents, he tried to do something weird in order to gain his parents’ attention. Because of that, he came mentality sick. He might take off his clothes and pees unexpectedly in the street. Ko Moon-Young came to the hospital to look for Moon Gang Tae. She was stopped by the patient in the middle of the carpark. She decided to offer the patient to give him a ride. She brought him away from the hospital. Moon Gang Tae and Nam Joo-Ri was on the way to work. He received a call from the hospital regarding the disappearance of the patient and the patient was being taken away by Ko Moon-Young. Moon Gang Tae and Nam Joo-Ri looked for Ko Moon-Young’s car. They failed to stopped her. She brought the patient to the town area. There was campaign held by the Congressman. She purposely brought him there and caused a scene there. The patient was very happy and had fun over there. Moon Gang Tae reached the destination but he did not stop the patient either. In fact, he asked Ko Moon-Young whether she would like to have fun with him. This incident surprisingly improved the patient’s condition. Oh Ji-Wang did not scold Moon Gang Tae or Ko Moon-Young, because he felt that what they did was best for the patient. The congressman came to the hospital to discuss the matter with Oh Ji-Wang. The CCTV captured the video of the congressman slapped Moon Gang Tae. Moon Gang Tae was angry with the congressman when he mentioned about what’s the point of having a useless child in the family. It reminded Moon Gang Tae about his mother who only cares about his brother rather than him. He was jealous and angry because he was born to take care of his brother.

Ko Moon-Young came to the hospital. She met Moon Sang Tae who was waiting for his brother. Moon Gang Tae was not in good mood. He scolded Ko Moon-Young for being around his brother. Moon Gang Tae also angry towards his brother who did not listen to what he said. Moon Sang Tae was scared. He hid himself in an enclosed place. Ko Moon-Young met her father at the hospital. Her father suddenly choked her in front of the nurses. They quickly stopped him. Ko Moon-Young walked alone beside the road. Moon Gang Tae saw her while he was riding a bus back to his house. He ignored her.

Moon Gang Tae heard from Jo Jae-Soo about the accident happened to Ko Moon-Young at the hospital. He borrowed Jo Jae-Soo ‘s motorbike and rushed to see Ko Moon-Young. It was raining during that time. Moon Gang Tae covered her with his jacket. They went to the motel to dry up their cloth. However, both of them don’t have money. Moon Gang Tae brought her back to his house to stay for a night. He also requested Nam Joo-Ri’s mother to prepare extra meal for him. He hid her at his room without the acknowledgement of anybody. He also lied to Jo Jae-Soo and his brother that there was leaking at their room as to avoid them from coming to his room.

Nam Joo-Ri came back home in the morning after her shift ended. She brought a bottle of milk to Moon Gang Tae. She was surprised to see Ko Moon-Young at her house. Both of them had a fight and Moon Gang Tae yelled at Ko Moon-Young and stopped them. Moon Sang Tae was angry with Moon Gang Tae because he lied to him about leaking issue. Moon Gang Tae gave Ko Moon-Young some money to take a taxi back to her resident. Nam Joo-Ri was jealous because Moon Gang Tae only yelled at Ko Moon-Young. Her mother consoled her and encouraged her to be brave to chase for her love.

Ko Moon-Young wanted to keep Moon Gang Tae by her side. She made a deal with Moon Sang Tae to stay at her mansion and worked as an illustrator for her new book. Moon Sang Tae agreed with it. Moon Gang Tae initially against the idea. However, he decided to respect his brother’s decision to make his own living. Ko Moon-Young stopped Moon Sang Tae from entering the basement. She recalled the moment when her mother was being murdered at the basement of their house. Moon Gang Tae and his brother cleaned the mansion the next morning. They also prepared breakfast for her.

Kang Eun-Ja was a patient in OK Psychiatric Hospital. She lost her daughter before she came to the hospital. Her daughter gave her an expensive present, furry jacket for her. However, she scolded her for wasting money. Her daughter left the house and faced an accident and then passed away. She felt guilty towards her daughter. She talked to Ko Moon-Young about recommending a nice guy for her. Ko Moon-Young thought that she was her mother at that moment. However, she realized that she was not. Kang Eun-Ja kept following her everywhere and treated her as her daughter. Ko Moon-Young was angry and told her that her mother already passed away long time ago. Kang Eun-Ja was shocked and collapsed at once. Ko Moon-Young just left the place.

Ko Moon-Young was afraid of her mother. Her mother did not allow her to cut her hair short and also control her movement. She had a bad dream at night. Moon Gang Tae heard her crying sound and came to her room. Although she asked him to leave, he felt that she was not really meant for it. He accompanied her the whole night. He also took a day off to accompany her. He brought her to eat good food and went for a walk.

Nam Joo-Ri gave Moon Gang Tae as she worried about him. She was jealous when Ko Moon-Young answered Moon Gang Tae and told her that he spent a great time with her during his off day. Nam Joo-Ri went to the store to have a drink alone. Lee Sang-In was there too, drinking beer alone. They met one another. Nam Joo-Ri acted recklessly in front of him because she was drunk. He sent her back home. Nam Joo-Ri was ashamed when she recalled what had happened yesterday.

Ko Moon-Young was angry when her class suddenly called off without her acknowledgement. She went to see Oh Ji-Wang. On the way, she met Kang Eun-Ja. In order to compensate her loss, she demanded Kang Eun-Ja to give her the furry jacket. She agreed with it. Moon Gang Tae was happy because Ko Moon-Young helped the patient to relief her burden towards her daughter. Moon Gang Tae gave Ko Moon-Young a doll which believed that the doll will catch all the bad dream. Moon Gang Tae made this doll for his brother at first, because he also had a bad dream after their mother dead. He gave it to her now, because his brother no longer needed it. Ko Moon-Young was really happy about. Moon Gang Tae brought some beer to visit Jo Jae-Soo. He cried because he missed his mother who also used to love him.

Ko Moon-Young cut her hair cut because she always wanted to have a short hair. However, she could not cut her hair properly. She waited Moon Gang Tae to come back home in order to surprise him. He helped her cut her hair properly. Moon Gang Tae could not stop looking at her. Moon Sang Tae criticized her that he preferred her long hair instead of short hair. Ko Moon-Young and Moon Sang Tae had a fight. They were claiming that the doll was belongs to them. Moon Gang Tae came back home in time to stop the fight. He talked to his brother to give the doll to someone who needed it the most and he agreed with it.

Nam Joo-Ri’s mother offered Yoo Seung-Jae and Lee Sang-In to stay at her house for the time being due to their difficult situation. Lee Sang-In stayed with Jo Jae-Soo whereas Yoo Seung-Jae stayed with Nam Joo-Ri. Moon Gang Tae caught a couple patient (Lee A-Reum and Joo Jung-Tae) at the hospital. Patients are not allowed to have love affair in the hospital. They begged him not to report to Oh Ji-Wang. He also crossed his mouth will keep their secret. Lee A-Reum’s ex-husband came by. When he tried to hit her at the hospital, Ko Moon-Young stopped him. However, he hit her in return. Moon Gang Tae rushed over and punched him. He was being suspended by the hospital after all. Lee A-Reum’s parent discharged her from the hospital. They worried that her ex-husband might hurt her again. Joo Jung-Tae was sad because Lee A-Reum have to leave the hospital.

Moon Gang Tae was relieved. He asked Ko Moon-Young to bring him to vacation. Ko Moon-Young was happy to do it with him. Ko Moon-Young was angry when Moon Gang Tae did not want to spend a night for vacation. She dropped him by the road and angrily drove back to her mansion. Moon Gang Tae was worried about Moon Sang Tae. He wanted to go back during evening. The next day, Moon Gang Tae and Ko Moon-Young began their vacation. Moon Gang Tae asked his friend to take care of his brother. He kept it secret to his brother.

Moon Gang Tae received a call from his patient. It was the patient couple. They asked him for money to stay for a night. Initially, they planned to escape together however they don’t have money to spend.  Ko Moon-Young generously paid for a night for the couple. Both Moon Gang Tae and Ko Moon-Young also spent a night together. Moon Gang Tae gave a call to his brother to express that he can’t come back for tonight. Joo Jung-Tae did not run away with Lee A-Reum because he felt that he needed to get well before he can go with her. The next day, Moon Gang Tae brought Joo Jung-Tae to the hospital. Joo Jung-Tae told other patients about Moon Gang Tae and Ko Moon-Young spending a night together. It was overheard by one of the nurses. The nurse told another person about them. It was accidentally heard by Moon Sang Tae was upset. When Moon Gang Tae came to see his brother at the hospital, Moon Sang Tae scolded him for telling him lie and said he was trying to kill him to everyone in the hospital. Moon Gang Tae was emotionally affected and everyone witnessed that.

Oh Ji-Wang let Moon Sang Tae stayed at the hospital for a couple of days. Moon Sang Tae hided himself in the room, because he did not want to see his brother. Oh Ji-Wang talked to Moon Gang Tae to face the problem instead of avoiding it. Moon Gang Tae walked away from the hospital. Ko Moon-Young followed him. He asked Ko Moon-Young not to follow him and he wanted to focus on his brother rather than chasing his own life. She knew that Moon Gang Tae did not mean it. She consoled him that he did not mean to kill his own brother, because she witnessed it. She saw Moon Gang Tae rescued his brother in the end. Moon Gang Tae left her alone. Although Ko Moon-Young wrote many messages and calls for Moon Gang Tae, he ignored all of them. She was really bored.

Nam Joo-Ri’s mother brought Moon Sang Tae to stay at her house for a moment.  Nam Joo-Ri also created a chance for Moon Gang Tae to repair their relationship. Nam Joo-Ri, on the other hand, went to Ko Moon-Young’s mansion to take Moon Sang Tae’s belongings. They had a drink together. Nam Joo-Ri was drunk. Lee Sang-In picked her up. Nam Joo-Ri, who was drunk, scolded Moon Gang Tae for being polite towards her. She also expressed her jealousy towards Ko Moon-Young.

Park Haeng-Ja informed Moon Gang-Tae to be careful of Park Ok-Ran. She believed that that patient tried to provoke Ko Moon-Young’s father. Park Ok-Ran ran out of hospital on Ko Moon-Young’s birthday. Moon Gang Tae recalled that it was her birthday. He quickly went to Ko Moon-Young’s mansion as he afraid that she might be her mother to try to hurt her.

Ko Moon-Young went to Nam Joo-Ri’s house. Nam Joo-Ri’s mother prepared a meal for her during her birthday. She was touched that she remembered her birthday. Ko Moon-Young was at home waiting for Moon Gang-Tae. Suddenly, the doorbell rang. She thought he has come. She was shocked to see Park Ok-Ran in front of her house.  Park Ok-Ran stopped by at her mansion. She told her that she was Ko Moon-Young’s mother’s fan.  She cut her hand with a knife. She then left the mansion.
Moon Gang-Tae came in and hugged Ko Moon-Young. He was relieved when he saw Ko Moon-Young was fine. He tried to catch the escaped Park Ok-Ran. Ko Moon-Young was angry with him because he didn’t really care about her. Moon Gang-Tae consoled her. He then spent a night with her. Moon Gang-Tae had a high fever. Ko Moon-Young took care of him.

Moon Gang-Tae had a talk with Ko Moon-Young. In order for Moon Sang-Tae to accept Ko Moon-Young as part of the family, they need to win his trust. Moon Gang-Tae tried to talk to his brother. Ko Moon-Young also planned to start writing her new book. She got inspiration from Moon Sang-Tae’s drawing. She tried to persuade him to work for her. Moon Sang-Tae ignored her completely. Moon Sang-Tae had a fight with his brother. Moon Gang-Tae scolded him to be an adult who need to act like one. Moon Sang-Tae saw Moon Gang-Tae smile while he was sleeping. Moon Sang-Tae took his first move to treat Moon Gang-Tae a meal for the first time. He also gave him allowance. Ko Moon-Young also wanted him to treat her and gave her allowance too. She begged him to accept her because she also wanted a brother like him. Moon Sang-Tae finally opened up his arm to accept Ko Moon-Young to join his family.

Moon Gang-Tae encouraged his brother to open up to speak about butterflies. With the advice from Kan Pil-Wong, Moon Sang-Tae decided not to trap in the past. He decided to speak it up. During the consulting session with Oh Ji-Wang, Moon Sang-Tae who was the only witness who saw his mother being killed by the murderer. Moon Sang-Tae told Oh Ji-Wang and Moon Gang-Tae about what happened that night. He described the murderer wore a double white butterfly brooch. Moon Gang-Tae realized that that brooch was belongs to Ko Moon-Young’s mother. He was unable to face Ko Moon-Young. When Ko Moon-Young told him to take a family photo the next day, he scolded him and chased her out. Ko Moon-Young did not know why he was mad at her. She asked Jo Jae-Soo about him. Jo Jae-Soo told her that Moon Gang-Tae was good at keeping secret. It is impossible for him to speak it out. Moon Gang-Tae did not know what to do. He also did not want to let her know the truth. He kept it for himself. He told Oh Ji-Wang about what he faced.

Moon Sang-Tae was excited for the photo shooting. He went to the photo shop with Ko Moon-Young. Ko Moon-Young thought that Moon Gang-Tae would not come to take a family photo with them. They were happy and surprised to see him came there later.

Nam Joo-Ri and Moon Gang-Tae informed Ko Moon-Young that her father only left a few days to live. They asked her to visit him. She refused it. She was fear of her mother but her father never helped her. She recalled her father only read a fairy tale story for her once. Ko Moon-Young’s father explained to Park Haeng-Ja that he realized that Ko Moon-Young’s mother murdered their housekeeper who was Moon Gang-Tae’s mother. He then pushed her down the staircase. Ko Moon-Young witnessed all the incident. He afraid that Ko Moon-Young might become a monster like her mother. He then passed away the nest day.

Moon Gang-Tae and Moon Sang-Tae accompanied Ko Moon-Young to attend the funeral. Moon Gang-Tae asked her whether will she lived in other places with him. Ko Moon-Young was surprised to hear that. She also decided to sell her house in order to help Lee Sang-In’s business. She started to work on her new book with the inspiration from Moon Sang-Tae. Moon Sang-Tae faced a difficulty to recognized the expression of the people. Ko Moon-Young rejected his work and encouraged him to learn and overcome his weakness. Moon Sang-Tae also learn to draw butterfly in order to walk out from his trauma.

Lee Sang-In was in love with Nam Joo-Ri. He lied to her that he went for a blind date and that woman was very pretty. He wanted to make her jealous. Nam Joo-Ri also secretly in love with him. however, she refused to express herself. When Lee Sang-In expressed his feeling to her, she was happy.

One day, when three of them arrived at the hospital, the patients told them about the butterfly on the wall. Moon Sang-Tae was traumatic at the moment and split out the incident happened related to the butterfly. Ko Moon-Young recognized the butterfly. It was belonged to her mother. She could not believe that her mother was a murderer who killed Moon Sang-Tae’s mother.

Moon Gang-Tae and Oh Ji-Wang checked the CCTV. They realized that the mural was done by Park Haeng-Ja. They believed that she was Ko Moon-Young’s mother. They tried to track her down.

Ko Moon-Young left the hospital. Moon Gang-Tae asked Lee Sang-In a favour to visit her condition. He also worried about her. Ko Moon-Young went home to look for her mother’s butterfly brooch. It was missing in the house. She afraid that her mother might hurt Moon Gang-Tae and Moon Sang-Tae. She asked Moon Gang-Tae to protect his brother instead. Moon Gang-Tae sent his brother to Nam Joo-Ri’s house. He lied to his bother that they had a fight. Moon Sang-Tae thought that Ko Moon-Young was sick. He asked Nam Joo-Ri’s mother to cook porridge for Ko Moon-Young. He fed her with porridge. Ko Moon-Young kept apologized to him.

Ko Moon-Young had the draft of her mother’s final book. She decided to send it to the publisher to publish her book in order to provoke her. Park Haeng-Ja kidnapped Moon Sang-Tae. She lured Moon Gang-Tae to meet her at the cursed castle. Moon Gang-Tae asked Lee Sang-In to bring Ko Moon-Young far away from her house. Ko Moon-Young discovered that Lee Sang-In lied to her. She jumped out from the car and ran back to the cursed castle. She saw her mother tried to hurt Moon Gang-Tae. Park Haeng-Ja told Moon Gang-Tae that Ko Moon-Young was her artwork. Since Ko Moon-Young did not listened to what she said, she decided to discard her. When Park Haeng-Ja pulled Ko Moon-Young hair and tried to hurt her, Moon Sang-Tae woke up and hit her with a book. The police came in time. They arrested her for killing Moon Gang-Tae’s mother.

Ko Moon-Young asked Moon Gang-Tae and his brother to leave her house. However, Moon Gang-Tae gave her many excuses so that they could continue to stay at her house. When Moon Gang-Tae asked his brother’s opinion about leaving the house without Ko Moon-Young, he did not want to. He wanted to leave with her. He already treated her as part of their family member. Ko Moon-Young decided to retire from being a writer. She refused to write her new book. Moon Gang-Tae asked Lee Sang-In for help in order to motivate her to continue writing her new book. Ko Moon-Young refused to work or going out from her house. Nam Joo-Ri gave her a call by telling her to take care of her mother. Ko Moon-Young realized that she was lying. Nam Joo-Ri’s mother cook a meal for her. She was touched that everyone treats her well. Moon Sang-Tae also showed her his homework. He drew a picture of his brother who smile while in sleeping. Ko Moon-Young liked it very much. She asked his permission to present her that drawing. And he gifted it to her.

Moon Gang-Tae confessed his feeling to Ko Moon-Young. She accepted it. Moon Gang-Tae persuaded her to continue her writing. Moon Sang-Tae also excited to become illustrator. Both Moon Sang-Tae and Ko Moon-Young worked on their new book. Ko Moon-Young decided to write her last book before she retired.  Moon Gang-Tae also decided to resign from OK Psychiatric Hospital and continue his study. He wanted to study and attend the college entrance.

After publishing their new book, they held a book launching event at OK Psychiatric Hospital. Moon Sang-Tae and Ko Moon-Young kept arguing for reading the new book. They even caused a mess during the launching event. Ko Moon-Young gave Lee Sang-In her mother last draft of her book and it was also her last copy. Lee Sang-In preferred Ko Moon-Young’s book more. However, he also wanted to keep her mother’s draft as a backup. That unpublished book of her mother was very popular among the readers. It will help Lee Sang-In’s sales. However, the draft was missing after having a tea with Ko Moon-Young. Yoo Seung-Jae found the draft at the dump site. However, she kept it to herself because she was pissed off with Lee Sang-In’s behaviour.

Oh Ji-Wang was guilty towards Moon Gang-Tae and his brother. After Moon Sang-Tae finished his mural drawing on the wall, Oh Ji-Wang presented a camping van for him. Ko Moon-Young, Moon Gang-Tae and his brother went for a trip with camping van. Before the end of the trip, Moon Sang-Tae told Moon Gang-Tae that he wanted to become a real illustrator. He will work with other writers too. He asked him not to worry about him. He left with Lee Sang-In whereas Ko Moon-Young and Moon Gang-Tae continued their journey.
