When the Weather is Fine

Mok Hye-Won came to her aunt’s guesthouse during winter. She was sick of the life in Seoul. She worked as a cello teacher. However, she could not withstand the pressure and attitude of the students and parents who did not respect her as a teacher. She was also being scolded by her superior for her boring teaching method and also failed to complete her mission for stealing the teaching method from other institution. She decided to escape from reality and kept herself busy by helping her aunt, Shim Myung-Yeo to manage her guesthouse.

Im Eun-Seob is her neighbour. He runs the bookshop "Goodnight Bookstore." He is also a blogger who runs “Good Night Club”. He wrote about Mok Hye-Won whom he referred her as Irene. He is secretly in love with Mok Hye-Won. One day, they attended a gathering party with their fellow classmates. He confessed that he was secretly in love with Mok Hye-Won. However, later he denied his feeling to her. 

Mok Hye-Won wanted to find a part-timer job for the time being. She wanted to teach cello/piano in the village. However, none of them wanted to hire a music teacher. Im Eun-Seob wanted to hire a part timer to look after his bookshop and she applied it.

When Mok Hye-Won was young, she was being transferred to study at the same high school as Im Eun-Seob. She used to be a good friend of Kim Bo-Young. One day, some of the students spoke ill about her parents. They also revealed that they heard the secret from Kim Bo-Young whereby Mok Hye-Won’s mother was in prison because she murdered her husband. Therefore, she stayed with her aunt and grandmother at the guesthouse. Mok Hye-Won was angry and felt being betrayed by Kim Bo-Young. Kim Bo-Young came to the bookshop to look for her. She refused to meet her and left at once. Kim Bo-Young tried to talk to her in order to clear their misunderstanding. Coincidently, they met each other when Mok Hye-Won and Im Eun-Seob went to the town area to do some laundry. However, she did not forgive her because she did tell her secret to other classmates.

Mok Hye-Won lived with Im Eun-Seob because her house was under construction. She stayed at his bookstore. Every week, the bookstore will hold a sharing event among the villagers. They will share the story or poem that they read to the members. 

One day, Lee Jang-Woo's colleague was missing in the mountain. Mok Hye-Won was worried about Im Eun-Seob's safety when Lee Jang Woo asked for his help to find his colleague. After a few hours later, he found that woman and rescued her. Mok Hye-Won wondered although he was expert in mountain should not that they should also worried about his safety. She also admired Im Eun-Seob for having a warm family member. 

Mok Hye-Won's mother released from jail and returned to her hometown. She met her daughter. Mok Hye-Won was angry at her because she didn't tell her the reason why she killed her father. Mok Hye-Won's mother took her belonging and left the place. Her aunt told her mother to write letter to her frequently so that she won't angry at her. 

Reunion gathering for all the alumni was just around the corner. Mok Hye-Won confessed her feeling to Im Eun-Seob during the reunion. However, he did not give her a reply. She felt bad that she thought she has been rejected. She was so emotional that she scolded her aunt for unreasonable reason. Her aunty was very concerned about her condition.

Lee Jang-Woo told Mok Hye-Won that although he was close to Im Eun-Seob, he did not know much about him. He told her that he has been disappeared for a few years before they met again. Mom Hye-Won recalled that she gifted a key chain to Im Eun-Seob which he was so cherished about it. When she asked him about the key chain, Im Eun-Seob denied it.
One day, Im Eun-Seob fall a sick. He stayed with his mother. However, he disappeared again. He followed the illusion and fall from the mountain. His mother was worried about him. Mok Hye-Won went to the mountain and looked for him. She finally found him and his cottage. He disallowed her to come to the mountain again. Mok Hye-Won felt offended because she thought that he shouldn't behave like that to her. After they returned to their home, the next day, she fell sick. Im Eun-Seob gave her some medicine. However, she refused to receive it. She wanted him to give her the answer before she accepted his medicine. Im Eun-Seob told her that he was sorry.

Im Eun-Seob left his sister's book at the mountain. He promised his mother that he will not go there without her permission. Mok Hye-Won was requested by his mother to go to the mountain to get his sister's book back. Im Eun-Seob and Mok Hye-Won went to the mountain together. They also went to the summit to see the beautiful view. Im Eun-Seob suddenly kissed her. 

Mok Hye-Won and Im Eun-Seob started to date one another. Their friends were curious about their relationship. However, they never asked them about it. They nearly get caught by Im Eun-Seob's sister, Lee Hwi. They also did not confess their relationship to anyone. Mok Hye-Won's aunt also found her niece weird too. Her aunt went to Seoul to meet the chief editor. She wanted to publish her novel in order to earn a living. She met her ex-boyfriend and he offered to publish a book for her. And she agreed it. 

Im Eun-Seob was passionate to become a writer. However, he never published his book although some of them asked him to publish it. His biological uncle came to meet him. Hwi and her parents worried that he may not come back anymore. Although his uncle asked him to come with him and live with him from now on, he refused to stay with him. His uncle even bought a bookstore for Im Eun-Seob because he knew that he liked books a lot. 

Mok Hye-Won's reminded her that the winter was going to over soon. She needed to prepare herself to go back to work in Seoul. When Im Eun-Seob came back to the village, he met Mok Hye-Won and escorted her to home. She asked him whether he will leave the place forever. He spoke to her that she was going to leave the place soon too after the winter ended. Mok Hye-Won was curious about what would happen to their future. 

Shim Myeong Yeo, wrote an opening for the chief editor - "Want to know who killed my brother-in-law? " The Chief editor was really worried about her and wanted to clarify the matter with her. She told him that the readers won't be able to tell which part was fiction and which part was non-fiction. Myeong Yeo visited her friend who was dying soon. She visited her more often before she passed away. 

Myeong Yeo recalled that her sister-in-law always abuse her sister. She tried to stop him from beating her. She accidently hit him by a car and caused him passed away. Mok Hye-Won's mother took all the blame and asked her to leave the scene. She erased her fingerprint and put hers instead. She was then sentenced to 7 years in prison.  She asked Myeong Yeo to focus on her writing and take care of Mok Hye-Won. 

Mok Hye-Won spent her first night at Im Eun-Seob's house. Im Eun-Seob received a call from the landlord's daughter who wishes to collect rental from them. Im Eun-Seob and Mok Hye-Won went to the landlord house to discuss about the rental. The landlord did not want to collect the rental from him as long as he used it as a bookstore. The landlord was a book lover too. He lent a rare book for Eun-Seob. 

When Mok Hye-Won asked Im Eun-Seob why he was at the train station at day. She told him that, on that day, she was planning to die. She was unable to withstand her classmate spoken ill of her family. She was lucky that she did not die that day. However, she wondered how did her aunt know where she was. Im Eun-Seob went to the train station because he received a call from his mother who was sick at that time. He saw her at the train station. He then followed her all day long. He informed her aunt when he saw her trying to commit suicide. He was glad that her aunt came on time to stop her from committing suicide.

Kim Bo-Young confessed to Im Eun-Seob that she was in love with him. He did not accept her. She then went to the mountain in order to make him worries about her. Eun-Seob told Hye-Won about it. Hye-Won insisted that she should go to her and brought her down from the mountain. Hye-Won met Bo-Young. They cleared their misunderstanding. They then went down the mountain together.

Hye-Won read Eun-Seob's dairy when his laptop was turn on. She teased him and realised that she was actually Irene. However, she did not manage to read all of them because he stopped her. Hye-Won found out that he was the one who informed her aunt to stop her from suiciding. 

Myeong Yeo collapsed in her room. Hye-Won found her unconscious and brought her to hospital. She was told by the doctor that her aunt has glaucoma which is in a very serious state. Hye-Won was told by the doctor that she needed to run a few tests. Myeong Yeo insisted not to accept it. Hye-Won told her mom about her aunt’s condition. Her mom came to visit her aunt. She tried to persuade her to accept medication. However, her aunt felt guilty that she was unable to live a normal life. Hye-Won was disappointed with her mom, because she thought she did not persuade her. 

Myeong Yeo started to write her new novel and emails it to her ex-boyfriend and Eun-Seob. Eun-Seob read her new novel and he understood her condition. He let Hye-Won to read them. After reading them, Hye-Won was unable to believe the truth. She asked her mother what the truth was. She was really upset and cried in the bus. Eun-Seob picked her up at the bus centre.

After Eun-Seob talked to Hye-Won, she tried to understand her aunt and her mother for not letting her to know the truth. He also brought her to her old house. From there, she found out that her mother still lived in that house. Her mother talked to her aunt. Her aunt insisted that she wanted to turn herself in. Her mother tried to stop her but, in the end, she chose to respect her decision. 

Hye-Won came back to her house and talked to her aunt. After listening to her aunt explanation, she persuaded her not to turn in. She also mentioned to her that she cannot live like she used to be. She decided to leave the place. Hye-Won also informed Eun-Seob about her leaving. Eun-Seob respected her but he was a bit upset. She comforted him and stayed overnight in the mountain with him before she left to Seoul.

In Seoul, Hye-Won failed her interview. She visited her friends. Her mother wrote a letter to her. She explained everything about her past. She also apologised for not knowing how to express herself. Hye-Won came back to the village. She met her mother and aunt. They also saw her aunt’s ex-boyfriend sent her off. Her aunt novel became the best seller book. Many bookstores bought many copies of the book to sell included Eun-Seob as well. Her mother also sold her house in Seoul and stayed in their guesthouse. 

Hye-Won met Eun-Seob in front of his bookstore. Eun-Seob tried to ignore her. However, Hye-Won ran towards him and hugged him. His frozen heart melts. They again spent a happy time together in the village. Eun-Seob also published his new book, named "Goodnight, Irene".
